When you're craving a warm, comforting bowl of soup, nurungjitang (scorched rice soup) is always the answer! This time I went with my mom to O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang in Hanam Misa. Parking is plentiful, so it's an easy spot to drive to, and the space is big enough that I'd especially recommend it for family gatherings. Here's my review of the refreshing seafood nurungjitang and the maesaengi abalone nurungjitang :)

O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch is located at 616-1 Misa-daero, 1F, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is open daily from 11:00 to 21:20. Parking is available, and the restaurant offers a takeout discount, delivery/packaging, group seating, high chairs, wheelchair accessibility, and even allows pets.

### The building and parking outside

O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang is a standalone building on Hanam's Misa-daero, and it's quite large, so it's easy to spot as you pass by.

Free parking is available and there's space around the restaurant, which made it feel convenient for a family visit. Especially when eating with my parents, we tend to drive rather than take public transit, so easy parking actually matters a lot haha. It also stays open through the Chuseok holiday, including the holiday itself, which makes it a good option for a family meal out!

### Inside the dining room

The restaurant was really spacious with a clean interior. The tables were spaced generously overall, and there were also good spots for group seating. It looked like a great place to use for family gatherings or meals with a larger group!

## Nurungjitang menu and prices

There's a good variety of nurungjitang to choose from.

- Mung bean abalone nurungjitang – ₩22,000
- Maesaengi abalone nurungjitang – ₩22,000
- Jeon-gabok nurungjitang – ₩28,000

Besides nurungjitang, you can also order Chinese dishes like tangsuyuk, chili shrimp, and yurinki. My mom picked the seafood nurungjitang, and I went with the maesaengi abalone nurungjitang haha.

The self-serve bar had a variety of side dishes as well as oranges for dessert, so you could help yourself to as much as you wanted.

Every single side dish was delicious! The squid radish strips, green onion kimchi, and namul (seasoned vegetables) were so good that we refilled them several times haha.

## Seafood nurungjitang 18,000 won and maesaengi abalone nurungjitang 22,000 won

The whole performance of pouring the broth into the nurungjitang pot is honestly overwhelming — one look and you're already smacking your lips lol. The nurungjitang arrived in a piping-hot stone pot. It looked appetizing from the moment it hit the table, bubbling away.

There's a sizzling sound that grabs your attention haha, and then the staff pours the hot nurungjitang broth into the sizzling stone pot — that's it!

It's served as an individual stone pot, which makes it easy to eat solo, and it stays hot all the way to the last bite haha.

### How does the seafood nurungjitang taste?

The seafood nurungjitang has all kinds of seafood in it, so the broth had that distinctive refreshing seafood flavor. It's the most basic nurungjitang, so it's a safe pick you can't really go wrong with!

The scorched rice soaking up the broth and turning soft was delicious too, and since it's such a hot dish, it really warms you up from the inside — perfect for parents to eat.

### How does the maesaengi abalone nurungjitang taste?

I'm a maesaengi lover haha, so I ordered the maesaengi abalone nurungjitang, and personally, this dish is exactly my taste!!

With the maesaengi mixed in, the broth felt a bit softer and cleaner, and the seafood flavor spreads across your whole mouth haha.

There's the fun of picking through all the different types of seafood, plus abalone on top, which made it filling as a full meal. None of the seafood was tough — everything was cooked tender. It's a nurungjitang where you only get the savory umami of seafood without any fishy taste, so I was really satisfied haha.

I also liked how the scorched rice starts out crispy and then gradually turns moist and soft as it soaks in the broth — the texture keeps changing as you eat. I thought the portion would be too much, but it's exactly right for one person! It was so good I scraped the bowl clean haha, a true empty-bowl finish :)

Finishing off with the dessert oranges was a nice touch! With a piping-hot nurungjitang, it felt like I properly treated my mom to a nourishing meal haha.

## Is it a good spot for a family gathering in Hanam Misa?

A hot bowl of nurungjitang is great to share with parents, and with such a spacious dining room and easy parking, this is a place I'd remember when looking for somewhere to take the family out to eat! If you're looking for a family restaurant with convenient parking around Hanam Misa, I'd highly recommend it :)
