I felt like I needed some serious nourishment today, so I headed to Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch, a duck restaurant that's a local favorite in Okgil-dong, Bucheon! Eating just one duck dish, like duck jumulleok or duck roast, is nice too, but at Keunsawi you get steamed duck, duck stew, perilla chicken, and fried rice all in one sitting — perfect when you want to try a bunch of things at once!!

As you can see, the entire area right in front of the restaurant is parking!! It might be a bit far if you're relying on public transit, but if you're driving, you don't have to worry about parking at all ☺️☺️ It's also a good stop if you've been to Starfield Bucheon!!

The inside of Keunsawi Ori Jip was much more pleasant than it looked from outside. The tables were spaced generously, of course, and there was plenty of room for large groups! (I actually saw quite a few big families dining there.)

On one side there's an unlimited self-serve bar where you can get all kinds of sauces and rice. Fluffy white rice, nutty gondre (mountain herb) rice, sesame oil, chili/peanut sauce, and a fresh seasoned salad (kkotjeori) that tasted like your mother-in-law made it herself..! You just scoop out as much as you want.

## What does the hinoki-steamed duck taste like?

The main event of the Keunsawi Top Table Set is the steamed duck in hinoki wood. When the timer goes off, staff come over and reveal it, ta-da!

You eat the still-steaming duck right away, mild and simple with vegetables. Even people who don't like duck's greasy, rich side could probably enjoy this cleanly.

It was great with bean sprouts, and also perfect wrapped in lettuce leaves.

Next up is the tasting portion of perilla chicken. It's a broth made with perilla seeds — nutty and thick, with a totally different charm from the steamed duck. A flavor both adults and kids can enjoy without any fuss..! If you eat duck for a while and the flavors start feeling repetitive, this resets your palate and changes the mood so you can eat even more ☺️☺️

### Spicy duck stew and tricolor fried rice

Last up is the duck stew. You toss in the vegetable add-ons that come with the set and let them cook briefly before eating haha. If the steamed duck is on the mild side, the duck stew has a much bolder seasoning and broth, so even though it's the same duck, you get a clearly different flavor. Load it up with the vegetable and rice cake add-ons — my personal favorites were the rice cake and potato pieces haha.

There's plenty of thick, meaty duck packed inside the stew too!! Once you're done eating, toss rice into the bubbling broth for fried rice, and that's truly the finishing move!! That day, you'll end up with a genuinely satisfying meal.

After the whole meal is over, they even hand out omega-3 supplements — nice that they think of that too.
