## Why we chose Urban Trend Sanbon for a men's iron perm in Gunpo

Today I'm sharing my husband's review of getting a men's iron perm in Sanbon. This time he went to Urban Trend Sanbon and got his iron perm done by director Junho.

My husband's hair is usually on the thin side and not very dense, so with a regular perm the curl never lasted long. So this time, instead of just adding curl, we decided to consult about an iron perm that would suit his hair condition and hold longer.

## What Urban Trend Sanbon looks like inside

Walking into Urban Trend Sanbon, the salon was bigger and cleaner than I expected.

Overall the space felt roomy, so it didn't feel crowded, and it was a comfortable atmosphere to sit in during the service.

What impressed me most this visit was how thorough the consultation and explanations were at every step. Director Junho first checked my husband's hair condition, explained why an iron perm would work better than a regular perm, and then carried out the service tailored to his hair.

## Hair condition before the iron perm: thin and limp

This is my husband's hair before the service. His hair is thin and not very strong, so it lacked volume overall, and without special styling it flattened easily and looked frizzy.

He usually needs to blow-dry to look neat, but since he can't spend much time on his hair every morning, he prefers a low-maintenance style. Through the consultation, we decided on an iron perm suited to his hair condition.

First up was the cut. I figured there wouldn't be much change before the perm, but even just the cut made his overall look much neater.

Considering my husband's existing hairstyle and face shape, the director trimmed what was needed and balanced everything out. Rather than cutting too much, he tidied it up naturally, so even before the perm his hair already looked more put-together.

## Applying the iron perm solution in two rounds

After the cut, the actual perm service began. First, the solution was applied carefully and left on for about 10 minutes.

It wasn't just one round of solution — after checking the hair's condition, more solution was applied and left on for another 10 minutes or so. Since my husband's hair is thin and lacks strength, it seemed like the amount of solution and timing were adjusted based on how his hair was responding.

Throughout the process, director Junho kept explaining what stage we were at and why it was being done that way, which made it easy for me to follow along as I watched.

## Shampoo, then the iron perm itself

After the solution stage, his hair was shampooed and then the actual iron perm service began.

Since an iron perm uses heat to shape the direction and curl of the hair, unlike a regular perm, the process looked different from the start. Director Junho worked section by section with the iron, shaping direction and volume — it was quite a detailed process.

Especially for hair as thin as my husband's, putting in too much curl can look overdone, so he styled it to create natural volume and flow instead.

After the ironing was done, we moved on to the neutralizing stage. This is where my husband was especially happy — he got to lie down comfortably for the neutralizing process.

Getting neutralized while lying down comfortably, and even getting a massage on top of it, made him really happy. He went in for a hair service and came out having gotten a satisfying massage too, which boosted his overall satisfaction. Perm services take a while and can get uncomfortable partway through, so he said it was great to be able to lie down comfortably through it.

Finally, his hair was dried and the overall style was finished off.

Comparing before and after, the change was clear. His hair, which had been flat overall, now had natural volume and a much neater look. The curl wasn't overdone — there was a natural flow to it that my husband liked.

Best of all, the finished style was easy to manage at home. While wrapping up, director Junho explained in detail how to dry his hair at home, which direction to dry it, and what to pay attention to in order to keep the perm lasting longer. It wasn't just about the service itself — getting aftercare advice meant we knew exactly how to style it once we got home.

## Was the men's iron perm at Urban Trend Sanbon worth it?

What satisfied me most about this visit wasn't just the result but how thorough the whole process was. From checking hair condition first and explaining why an iron perm was the right choice, to the solution application and wait times, shampoo, ironing, neutralizing, and drying — every step was handled carefully.

Especially for hair as thin and weak as my husband's, it seems important not to just add strong curl but to consider the hair's condition and the desired style. And getting detailed home-care advice at the end made it even more satisfying.

If you want a neat style without spending much time on daily hair care, an iron perm might be worth considering. The cut and iron perm were done to match my husband's existing style, and the result was much neater and more natural than before, which we were happy with. My husband liked how his hair settled naturally and gained volume after the service.
