## In short

Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch (비비삼 과천본점) is a Korean restaurant on Saesulmak-gil in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi, where the rice is cooked to order in pressure stone pots. After hiking Gwanaksan, the writer came with her parents and ordered two octopus stone-pot roe rice bowls plus a Hwangdeung-toryeom bulgogi bibimbap and Korean beef patty set for 38,500 won in total; the octopus pieces were large and the stone pot kept the rice warm to the last bite. Bibisam is an easy choice for a filling meal before or after a hike, or for a solo lunch in Gwacheon.

Bibisam, where we stopped for lunch with my parents after being near Gwanaksan.

![Storefront view of Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch on Saesulmak-gil](https://img.superchart.com/images/bibisam-gwacheon-gwanaksan-hiking-lunch/bibisam-gwacheon-gwanaksan-hiking-lunch-01-16v57-m-900.webp)

After hiking, sometimes you don't want anything fancy — just a warm, filling bowl of something. Bibisam had plenty of Korean menu options like bibimbap and stone-pot rice that are easy to share with parents, so we went in.

Being near Gwanaksan, it's convenient for a meal before or after a hike, and the place itself feels comfortable enough to eat alone in, so it seems like a good option if you're looking for a Gwacheon lunch spot or a solo meal too.

## Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch hours and parking

Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch is open Mon–Sun 11:00–22:00, and there's no store parking. On weekends you can park free at Gwacheon City Hall or the Gwacheon Health Center; we parked about an hour at the paid public lot next to the Civic Center and it came to ₩900.

## Menu and prices at Bibisam

From light namul (seasoned vegetable) bibimbap to bulgogi, yukhoe (beef tartare), and octopus, there was enough range that everyone in the family could pick something to their taste.

Here's what we ordered:

- Octopus stone-pot roe rice x2
- Hwangdeung-toryeom bulgogi bibimbap + Korean beef patty set
- Total: ₩38,500

## Rice cooked to order in pressure stone pots

What caught my eye at Bibisam was the pressure stone pot cooking. The service window was open so we could watch the food being made — once you order, the rice is cooked to order in a pressure stone pot.

It took about 10 minutes after ordering, and miso soup and white kimchi were ready at the self-serve bar, so we got those set up while we waited.

## Octopus stone-pot roe rice with big pieces of octopus

The octopus stone-pot roe rice at Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch won me over the moment it arrived — the octopus was bigger and more generous than I expected.

There's a container of roasted seaweed flakes (gimgaru) at every table, so you just mix it thoroughly with the hot stone pot.

The octopus had a springy, chewy bite, and the sauce was spicy in a way that went well with the rice.

![Spoonful of spicy octopus roe rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/bibisam-gwacheon-gwanaksan-hiking-lunch/bibisam-gwacheon-gwanaksan-hiking-lunch-10-1gk5u-900.webp)

The pairing with white kimchi was 👍 — and because it's a stone pot, it stayed warm right to the last bite. The rice touching the bottom got slightly crisp with a different texture, so I ended up scraping the whole thing haha.

## Hwangdeung-toryeom bulgogi bibimbap and Korean beef tteokgalbi set

For the Hwangdeung-toryeom bulgogi bibimbap, the rice is toryeom-blanched and seasoned before serving, so no plain white rice comes out separately.

![Table setting of Hwangdeung-toryeom bulgogi bibimbap and Korean beef patty set](https://img.superchart.com/images/bibisam-gwacheon-gwanaksan-hiking-lunch/bibisam-gwacheon-gwanaksan-hiking-lunch-11-p6wg7-900.webp)

The bibimbap had not just bulgogi but bean sprouts, mushrooms, and other vegetables, so it was easy to mix evenly. The mushrooms in particular were cut generously, so every spoonful brought up multiple ingredients together.

And the Korean beef patty served alongside had a fried egg on top. The yolk was soft, so I popped it right away and ate it with the patty — the savory sauce combined with the rich yolk made it even smoother.

A drizzle of sesame oil on top, mixed it all together, and the nutty aroma just hit. The bulgogi was more generous than I expected, so it didn't feel like a bibimbap that was mostly rice.

Finished the meal without leaving a single grain of rice, so good 🥹

## The Chuseok holiday like-and-win event at Bibisam

They were also running a 2026 Chuseok holiday event.

You can join by saving Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch on Naver Place, liking the related post, and showing it to staff at the store.

Random gifts include a royal court snack (gwajeong hangwa) set, a wellness oil set, Bibisam meal vouchers, and towels. Each person can enter once per store meal order, and it may end early once prizes run out, so worth keeping in mind if you visit.

There's also a Naver receipt review event running for a ₩500 southern-style cockle dish!

## Why Bibisam works for a meal with parents after hiking Gwanaksan

What stuck with me most at Bibisam was the rice cooked fresh in pressure stone pots and served warm, and having a range of options — namul, bulgogi, yukhoe, octopus — made it a good place to visit with my parents too.

![Full table spread of stone-pot rice dishes at Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/bibisam-gwacheon-gwanaksan-hiking-lunch/bibisam-gwacheon-gwanaksan-hiking-lunch-17-1ny1p-1200.webp)

A no-fuss stop whether you're looking for a hearty meal before or after hiking Gwanaksan, or just a simple solo Gwacheon lunch. Next time I'm back, I'll probably order the octopus stone-pot dish again.
