Today I really wanted to stuff myself with a bunch of different delicious things to recharge! Lately Kuu Kuu kept popping up in my SNS feed after its renewal, haha, so I went. But apparently not every Kuu Kuu is the same Kuu Kuu — the Nowon branch got a recent renewal upgrade? 🤍 I went straight there after work on a weekday evening and I'm bringing you a piping-hot fresh review :) ## Booking and parking at Kuu Kuu Nowon: why a weekday evening works best 📱 How to avoid the brutal weekend wait! Make sure to book on Naver ✨ You know how popular restaurants get slammed on weekends or peak mealtimes and you end up in a huge line...? (Just thinking about the waiting makes me dizzy.) I booked ahead on Naver and visited on a weekday evening, and I walked straight in with zero wait — they even gave me a reserved seat! Time limit tip: the standard time limit is 2 hours, but it drops to 1.5 hours if there are people waiting! Booking on Naver in advance lets you go in without worrying about the clock, so reserving before your visit is a must! Parking tip: it's located in the Seoul Oncheon Building (247 Nowon-gu), and you get 2 hours of free parking! The moment you walk in, the interior — natural wood paired with white tones — feels clean but also gives off that particular warm, cozy vibe I love 🤍 And since the space is over 300 pyeong, it really felt spacious and never crowded! Further inside, they had group seating from a minimum of 14 up to 200 people, plus private rooms for 40 to 60, fully equipped as independent rental spaces. The sushi lineup got a next-level upgrade.. 🥹 The moment I saw the sushi at the entrance, I dropped my phone and bag and headed straight for the buffet corner! The second I saw the sushi section... haha, I was stunned by the scale — it felt like every sushi in the world was gathered here. Kuu Kuu's sushi was already decent before, but the cuts of fish had gotten seriously bigger. - Flounder & salmon sushi: they said they made the fish cuts way bigger than before, and sure enough, the rice portion was modest but the fish sat on top thick, so your mouth gets filled with flounder and salmon — the texture was pure art.. 🥹 - Botan shrimp sushi: whoa... they upgraded to the premium botan shrimp this time, and that sweet, chewy shrimp flavor was insane. (Weekday dinner / weekends / holidays only) Not frozen salmon — actual firm, fresh salmon sashimi... I picked up a piece, dipped it lightly in soy sauce, and it just melted savory and smooth in my mouth. Just seafood would've felt like something was missing, so I properly raided the grill corner too — turns out there was way more than expected...? - New lamb chops: served all day, with zero gamey smell and a tender, flavorful bite... I was moved that you can just keep grabbing this quality of lamb chops at a buffet ,, - New smoked duck: served on weekday dinners and weekends! You know you have to top it with a little sweet/whole grain mustard... a total beer killer... - Made-to-order noodle dishes: jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and other noodle dishes get made fresh on request. Usually when a buffet says unlimited beer, they hand you cheap Filite, right...? But the Nowon branch actually served real draft beer (Terra, Kelly)! 🔥🔥 Normally it's unlimited draft worth ₩5,900, but just by participating in the review event, this unlimited draft is completely free...!! Once more, write down the Uljin crab pasta and gochu japchae.. oh, and the whole salmon steak too... ## Dessert at Kuu Kuu Nowon: bead ice cream now served at lunch too 🍦 Wrapping up dessert with the cute bead ice cream! My stomach felt like it might burst, but you know there's always a separate dessert stomach, right? The bead ice cream that used to only come out at weekday dinner or weekends has now been upgraded to all-day, including lunchtime! That colorful bead ice cream nostalgia from childhood amusement park trips — I filled a cup to the brim and finished off with the perfect palate cleanser, haha. There were more fruit varieties than I expected, and the jelly desserts were tasty too (I recommend the mango flavor) ## Verdict: is Kuu Kuu Nowon a good buffet for family and work dinners? 🎨 Final verdict & if you're looking for a buffet near Nowon/Hagye, this is a must! I used to have this bias that all-you-can-eat buffets are always a bit lacking in quality, but this visit to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch completely changed my mind... From the freshness of the sushi to the salmon sashimi, the new lamb chop menu, and the unlimited draft beer service, it nailed both value and quality — my satisfaction was through the roof!
