I went out with some friends to Yeonnam-dong and stumbled on this atmospheric pasta restaurant~ It's run by a couple, cozy and intimate — the husband cooks and the wife serves. Let's get into this post about Pastiar, a Yeonnam-dong pasta restaurant!

## From the stairwell to the second-floor dining room: what is Pastiar like?

Pastiar is on the 2nd floor, so you have to climb a staircase to get up~ Little flower decorations along the stairway put you in a good mood, and the bench set up outside the store looks unique with its colorful cushions — I really like it! The owner clearly has a good eye!!!

The inside is also decorated tastefully with lush greenery and pretty artwork~ The sunlight coming through the windows blends with the warm yellow lighting inside to create a bright yet cozy atmosphere that felt really charming~

## Pastiar's menu and how ordering works

Pastiar's menu is organized into main dishes, side dishes, pasta, starters & salads, set menus, beverages, desserts, beer, highballs, and wine~ The prices aren't too heavy on the wallet, so it'd also make a nice spot for a blind date or a regular date~

After picking our menu we went up to the counter to order~ We just happened to go up and order at the counter while we were there, but you don't have to — if you just raise your hand at your seat, the owner will come take your order, so keep that in mind~ We ordered four dishes total: cube steak rice bowl, lasagna, ricotta cheese salad, and shrimp rose pasta~

After ordering, they set up our tableware first~ It looked so cute all gathered together neatly that I had to take a photo~

While waiting for the food, we admired the lush greenery, watched the husband cooking in the kitchen, and had a great time catching up with friends we hadn't seen in a while~

## Four plates arriving at Pastiar almost at the same time

The food came out almost simultaneously, in the order of ricotta salad, shrimp rose pasta, cube steak rice bowl, then lasagna~ Since nearly everything we ordered came out at once, we got to eat together at the same time, which was great — I can only imagine how much the kitchen had to calculate timing and effort to serve it all together like that~

Thanks to that we got to take a group shot of all the food at once~ Every single dish looked delicious, so I think we ordered well~ Yar~!!!

## How do the ricotta cheese salad and cube steak rice bowl taste?

First, to keep our conscience clear before diving into Western food, we started with the ricotta cheese salad~ It had orange pieces in it, and even the dressing itself tasted refreshingly of orange, which paired so well with the savory ricotta cheese~ It was the perfect starter salad to wake up the appetite!!!

Second, we dug into the cube steak rice bowl and mixed it up nicely~ The meat was tender to chew, with a salty pork galbi (short rib)-like flavor and a hint of pepper~ Every time I bit into a piece of pickled young ginger, the subtle ginger fragrance made me happy~ Everyone in our group enjoyed it~

In between we also made sure to eat the pickles~ They were crunchy and tangy, really tasty too~

## Pastiar's shrimp rosé pasta and lasagna

The shrimp rose pasta had an appealing thick, creamy rose sauce~ It was also loaded with big, satisfying shrimp~ The pasta noodles were cooked al dente, giving a chewy texture that broke apart nicely with a good bite~

Honestly, I have to confess — this was my first time trying lasagna in my life~ If I'd known it was this good, I would have tried it way sooner~ The wide flat noodles had a soft yet chewy texture, almost like sujebi (hand-torn dough soup), which was really fun~ The tangy tomato sauce wasn't overly acidic, blending smoothly with the savory cheese, and the texture of the ground meat mixed in was fantastic too~

The three of us women all finished our meal feeling completely satisfied~ If you're looking for a stylish spot for a gathering, a blind date, or a date, I recommend Pastiar!!!
