Looking for a Korean restaurant around Bucheon for a weekend late lunch with family, I ended up at Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang.

That day we were a group of six — five adults and one child — so beyond the food, I prioritized easy parking, a spacious restaurant, and comfortable seating for a crowd. In the end, it turned out to be a Bucheon Sinjung-dong spot I was glad we picked for a family outing 💚

The parking lot alone was pretty big, so moving around with several cars wasn't stressful — but once we got inside, the restaurant turned out to be even bigger than the parking lot haha. Overall it was clean and pleasant, and the seating spacing wasn't cramped at all, so it was comfortable to eat with family.

## A size that's roomy even for six people

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang was a Korean restaurant with a scale that suits group visits. I saw a lot of families like us there, and since they also have private rooms, it seemed like a good spot for dining with parents or holding a family gathering.

Especially with a young child along, small crowded restaurants can get a bit chaotic, but here the space itself is so spacious that we could eat fairly relaxed. So if you're looking for a Bucheon Jungdong Korean restaurant with a family gathering in mind, this is a pretty solid choice.

## The interior and the private room

They use all of the first, second, and third floors of the building, and it's definitely a spacious Korean restaurant. The chairs themselves are wide, and the seating spacing is generous too!

You know that feeling of a place being perfect for a family meal? It's neat and tidy.

The restaurant was quite spacious, so there was zero sense of crowding, which was nice. The restrooms were clean too.

This area had the private rooms. If you're looking for a room-style restaurant in Sinjung-dong, Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang could be a good pick. The food is solid to begin with, and the rooms are spacious and clean too.

Perfect for a gathering spot, right? They also have group seating, so it'd be worth asking about it for year-end parties or big family gatherings.

## A self-bar where even the rice gets refilled

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang serves a full table set of Korean dishes. The side dishes come in a variety too, and all of them can be refilled — you just grab more from the self-bar, which was convenient. What was unusual was that the rice can also be refilled.

The plum tea and omija tea (schisandra berry tea) were tasty too.

Yellow rice and barley rice, both refillable!! If you run short on rice, you can just grab more here, which is quietly great.

It was full of the Korean side dishes I love. It's the style parents would like, but there's plenty for younger people to eat too!

At Tteuranchae Bapsang, you can start with the ₩13,000 per-person option. You need to add an extra dish on top of the basic per-person table set.

If you order from the set menu, you don't need to add an extra dish. We went with the basic per-person set plus two extra dishes. Just the right amount!!

## A table set with barley corvina and grilled mackerel

The table was set up fast after ordering! Lots of side dishes and generous portions — plus namul (seasoned vegetable) side dishes that go great with the pot rice, which made me happy! I'm a fan of this kind of Korean home-style food.... so the table setting at this Sinjung-dong restaurant was very much to my taste.

The barley corvina (dried yellow corvina) was huge with lots of flesh. Salty and dense, it worked fine for adults and for eating with the kid too. Rather than a flashy main dish, it was a spread you could eat comfortably like home cooking, which actually made it good for a family meal.

And my favorite grilled mackerel on top~ The mackerel was pretty big too, plenty for several people. At first, with six of us, I wondered if we should order more mains, but the basic table set came out so generously that adding just the two grilled fish dishes was enough. The grilled mackerel was browned nicely on the outside and moist and savory inside. Put a piece of mackerel on warm rice with a basic side dish, and yeah — that's the taste of real Korean food haha.

The cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) was so good! It had kimchi and tofu inside, and it didn't have that distinct cheonggukjang smell at all — really delicious.

And the pot rice was also so good! The rice here was clearly excellent.

## Why the free refills of side dishes and rice were great

Some Korean restaurants give you too simple a side dish spread, but here the basic table setting felt substantial from the start. What I liked most was that side dishes and rice are unlimited refills! When you're eating in a group, someone tends to eat a lot of a particular side dish, and someone might find one bowl of rice not enough. Being able to add more without worrying about it was great.

With our big group, the side dishes disappeared quickly, but being able to get more as needed was genuinely convenient.

A Korean table set filled with variety :) With its hanjeongsik (Korean full-course meal) style, it was really perfect as a gathering spot.

Honestly, what I liked most here, main dishes aside, was the basic table setting. With several side dishes laid out at once, there's a fun in picking through different things while eating a bowl of rice.

Pot rice plus green tea to go with the barley corvina was so good! My favorite combination, of all things!!!

Even though it was eating out, it felt less like something heavily seasoned and more like a proper home-cooked meal, which I liked. Especially when visiting with older family members, this kind of Korean spread tends to please everyone without exception. So I thought it was a good Bucheon Sinjung-dong restaurant to find for meals with parents or for family gatherings.

The mackerel was so good...... I want to recreate this taste at home!

A day when a whole pot of rice disappeared in no time........ every single side dish was so good that the rice vanished quickly 😊

You can even make bibimbap (mixed rice) with the side dishes!! There was so much variety to try, which made for a highly satisfying restaurant. I could immediately see why older folks like it so much.

## Parking, seating, private rooms — how does it work for a family gathering?

When picking a spot for a family gathering, parking and seating matter as much as the food. Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang had plenty of parking, so it was easy to visit by car, and the interior was spacious and clean too. On top of that, there's a private room, so it also seemed like a good choice for a quieter family meal or a parent's birthday dinner. Even though we went on a late weekend lunch, the overall vibe wasn't chaotic and crowded — it was easy to have a comfortable meal and head out.

This visit to Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang was less about flashy dishes and more about a Korean table set that nailed the basics. For ₩13,000 per person, you get a variety of basic side dishes and rice, with unlimited refills on both, and adding just a couple of mains like grilled mackerel or grilled corvina made it plenty filling for five adults and one child.

Easy parking, a spacious restaurant, and private rooms made it convenient in every way when looking for a place to eat with family.
