## Where is Yakiniku Pungyeong? An 8-minute walk from Indeogwon Station

Yakiniku Pungyeong is a yakiniku restaurant on the 1st floor of 28 Botdeul 2-gil, Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, about an 8-minute walk from Exit 2 of Indeogwon Station on Line 4. We went to celebrate my husband's happy promotion — a surprise he'd planned. We're both big fans of traveling to Japan, so we make it out there 2-3 times a year, big cities and small towns alike.

I'd just gotten a promotion after a lot of hard work, and to make the day even more meaningful, my husband secretly researched and booked a restaurant — a long-standing yakiniku specialist near our home in Uiwang.

It's an easy 8-minute walk from Exit 2 of Indeogwon Station on Line 4, and it's near Mulbit Neighborhood Park and a wooded village area, so it's quiet and pleasant. If you're driving, there's plenty of parking space in front of and beside the restaurant, which was convenient.

The moment we walked in, we were hit with a cozy, exotic atmosphere that felt exactly like an old, sentimental local restaurant in Japan — we were in a good mood before we'd even sat down.

What we ordered first at Yakiniku Pungyeong were two servings of skirt steak (₩32,000) and two servings of snowflake short rib (₩37,000). Sitting down to celebrate the promotion, we ordered the signature dishes touched by hands with over 20 years of experience handling meat.

The owner kindly told us the order to eat the different cuts in, recommending we start with the skirt steak. The moment my husband grilled it over the charcoal and I took a bite, I genuinely gasped.

It's not marinated for a long time — instead, a sauce made fresh at the moment of ordering adds natural sweetness from fruit, which really maximized the meat's own flavor and tender texture.

This was honestly the softest, juiciest skirt steak I think I've ever had.

Next up, the snowflake short rib lived up to its name with gorgeous, flower-shaped marbling, and it melted the instant it hit my mouth.

The sides we ordered alongside the meat at Yakiniku Pungyeong were mushrooms, scallops, and cheese melted on a dedicated griddle over the charcoal. Every single side dish we ordered to go with the meat was perfect.

From the mushrooms, which brought out the meat's flavor with a clean simplicity,

to the scallops, served piping hot with a distinctly different charm,

to the cheese, melted golden-brown on its own griddle set over the charcoal — picking through each one was so much fun.

On top of that, the staff were incredibly kind from start to finish, and kept bringing out service item after service item.

Between courses, they even brought out refreshing tomato slices followed by a unique canapé dessert topped with grapes and cream cheese, on the house.

It felt like we were being treated with real care, and my husband and I couldn't stop smiling at each other through a genuinely happy dinner.

## Ordering more premium short rib for 23,000 won, plus the no-miss prize draw

For round two at Yakiniku Pungyeong, we ordered two more servings of skirt steak along with two servings of premium short rib (₩23,000). We ordered right away to keep the momentum going.

The premium short rib was excellent quality too, but the one dish that completely won over both our palates was, without question, the skirt steak.

If you ever visit, I want to strongly recommend that you eat the skirt steak first, no matter what.

My husband and I won 4th and 5th prize respectively, getting a raw beef gim rice ball (1 piece) and an extra order of scallops.

With the fruit already generously served and extra dishes from the review event on top, our table that evening got seriously abundant.

The raw beef gim rice ball we got as a service item was so good that we ended up ordering a full 4-piece order (₩20,000) to enjoy properly. As our meal wound down, the owner even brought out cool, sweet watermelon on the house, as if celebrating with us too.

This is one of the most generous restaurants I've been to in a long time in terms of service, and the staff's warmth made the meaning of the promotion celebration my husband planned run even deeper — it was a genuinely moving evening.
