## In short

Tobeu Nain Pangyo Main Branch is a large Italian restaurant in Sasong-dong, Seongnam, with a ground-floor dining room and a second-floor brunch and soufflé dessert café. On a Tuesday evening the order was cheese oven Bolognese at 19,900 won and salmon steak puttanesca at 23,900 won, 43,800 won in total, and both the chewy short pasta and the mild, not-too-sharp tomato sauce delivered. With its own parking lot and a 14-person private room, Tobeu Nain Pangyo also works well for group gatherings.

I went for dinner on a Tuesday evening. I'd been hoping to eat somewhere spacious and not cramped, like a big brunch cafe — and Tobeu Nain Pangyo Main Branch was so roomy that I loved it.

## How to get to Tobeu Nain Pangyo Main Branch, and the basics

Tobeu Nain Pangyo Main Branch is a bit of a distance from Pangyo Station, so it's more convenient by car. When I arrived, I was surprised at how huge and stylish the exterior looked.

There are outdoor seats too, and I loved the veranda seating on the 2nd floor. It was full of green plants.

Parking at Tobeu Nain Pangyo wasn't a problem at all — there's plenty of space in front and beside the restaurant.

## First impressions inside Tobeu Nain Pangyo

![1st floor dining hall with ivory curtains and floral tablecloths](https://img.superchart.com/images/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit-03-nsgjc-900.webp)

![Interior with antique lighting and plants](https://img.superchart.com/images/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit-04-1r58g-900.webp)

![Counter area decorated with dried flowers](https://img.superchart.com/images/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit-05-1fbbb-900.webp)

Stepping inside, it had that antique-style look you'd expect from a well-known Western restaurant in Pangyo. I loved the ivory curtains on the windows.

Green plants, floral tablecloths, pretty lighting, dried flowers filling the counter — it was such a lovely, plant-filled space.

The self-serve bar was tidy and cute too. It looked like you could also buy dessert gift boxes there.

![Open kitchen and large wood-fired oven on the 1st floor](https://img.superchart.com/images/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit-07-ob0b9-900.webp)

On one side of the 1F floor you could see the kitchen at work, and the wood-fired oven was so huge it really caught my eye.

## The private room and the second-floor café space

Tobeu Nain Pangyo Main Branch is really large inside, with plenty of seating on both floors. Going up to the 2nd floor gives you a completely different atmosphere.

There were bags on display on the 2nd floor that I browsed. There are also about two private rooms on the 2nd floor, which I'd recommend for family gatherings or Pangyo work dinners.

You order via kiosk at your table. Water and plates were already set out, and even the water bottle was antique and pretty.

If you're only ordering tea, you pay first and then head up to the 2nd floor.

I ordered the cheese oven Bolognese for ₩19,900 and salmon steak puttanesca for ₩23,900, ₩43,800 in total.

![Cucumber and radish pickles from the self-serve bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit-18-l6ado-900.webp)

From the self-serve bar, cucumber and radish pickles came out first.

## How the cheese oven Bolognese and salmon steak puttanesca tasted

![Two pasta dishes served on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit-19-w5pf4-900.webp)

At last, the dishes I ordered arrived. They looked hearty and so delicious.

![Cheese oven Bolognese baked with mozzarella cheese](https://img.superchart.com/images/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit-20-lbbf8-900.webp)

True to a Pangyo pasta spot, the cheese oven Bolognese was made with a ragu sauce simmered for a long time, topped with truffle oil and mozzarella cheese, then baked once more in the oven.

It was casarecce short pasta simmered a long time with tender beef shank and vegetables, finished as cheese oven pasta with truffle oil. The beef shank was Australian, apparently.

![Casarecce short pasta coated in ragu sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit-21-1dxkv-m-900.webp)

The short pasta pieces were quite large, and combined with the meatball sauce the texture was really savory, soft, and thick. It went so well with the sauce that I kept eating it exclaiming how good it was.

Since one dish was cheese-based, I ordered the other one tomato-based.

The salmon steak puttanesca had a superior-grade salmon steak on top, adding rich juiciness and nuttiness. It was a pasta with tomato base deepened by the umami of anchovy and olives.

There were plenty of olives in it, and the salmon was well-grilled and fairly large.

![Puttanesca pasta topped with salmon steak](https://img.superchart.com/images/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit/tovnine-pangyo-pasta-dinner-visit-22-aw9z2-900.webp)

The pasta noodles weren't too thick, and I liked that the tomato flavor wasn't overpowering.

## Verdict: a Pangyo Italian restaurant worth booking for a group

If you write a Naver review, you get an egg tart.

I was too full for the egg tart so I ate it at home later — it was so rich and nutty it was almost a meal on its own.

The owner and staff were so kind that I definitely want to come back.

Next time we have a group gathering, I'd love to suggest coming here again. Next time I want to try the wood-fired pizza.

For anyone looking for a Western restaurant near Pangyo Station, or a big brunch cafe in Pangyo, I'd recommend Tobeu Nain Pangyo :)
