## In short

Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch is a 24-hour sundaeguk (blood sausage soup) and boiled pork restaurant a 2-minute walk from Cheonho Station Exit 4 in Gangdong, Seoul. There are a lot of reviews saying Boseung Hoegwan varies a lot branch to branch, but this Cheonho Station branch was a hit — I ate really well, so I wanted to share the review.

✨Menu✨ Boseung Hoegwan, a boiled pork spot near Cheonho Station, has a really varied menu. I usually order the boiled pork gukbap or the pork bone hangover soup here, and honestly I didn't expect much from the pork bone soup, but it was as good as a specialty shop's — I'd recommend trying it.

![Basic side dishes including diced radish kimchi and fresh-tossed kimchi](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-10-1wuee-966.webp)

These are the basic side dishes at Boseung Hoegwan, a gukbap spot near Cheonho Station. You get diced radish kimchi, napa cabbage kimchi, chives, and chili peppers — the peppers were surprisingly spicy. Boseung Hoegwan's kimchi is also great; it's fresh-tossed kimchi, exactly my type.

## Solo special set: spicy pork jowl gukbap for 16,000 won

✨Solo Special Set – Spicy Pork Jowl Gukbap (₩16,000)✨ Today I ordered the solo special set, which comes with a bowl of gukbap plus a plate of boiled pork and sundae (blood sausage). I chose the spicy pork jowl gukbap.

![Spicy pork jowl gukbap loaded with pork jowl meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-13-g1pao-966.webp)

It was really packed with pork jowl meat. I ordered it medium-spicy, and it was surprisingly hot — but it wasn't the forced heat of capsaicin, it was the sharp, tingly spiciness of cheongyang chili, so it was really delicious. My stomach felt completely settled. I'd highly recommend this as a hangover cure.

![Close-up of the tender pork jowl meat inside the gukbap](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-14-1dsbc-966.webp)

When I eat sundaeguk, I'm not great with the organ meat, but eating just sundae alone feels lacking. This pork jowl gukbap was easy to eat since it's loaded with pork jowl meat, which was great. The pork jowl was also super tender and soft.

### The boiled pork platter and sundae included in the set

![Boiled pork and sundae platter served as part of the solo set](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-15-i3edd-966.webp)

This is the plate of boiled pork and sundae that came as part of the set. Even though it's a solo set, the portion was really generous. It would also make a great drinking snack.

![Plate of assorted sundae varieties](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-16-17lj5-966.webp)

The sundae wasn't just plain glass-noodle sundae — there were several different kinds, so it was fun to pick and choose. The one on the far right in particular was chewy and delicious.

![Plate of moist sliced boiled pork](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-17-17jpk-966.webp)

![Sliced boiled pork served with dipping sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-18-4mb46-966.webp)

The sliced boiled pork seemed freshly cooked too — moist and tender. There was no gamey pork smell, so it tasted clean. The sauce that came with it wasn't too salty either, and it brought out the savory flavor of the pork nicely.

![A bowl of mul-naengmyeon at Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-19-1crfi-966.webp)

## Mul-naengmyeon for 9,000 won: the hangover pairing

✨Mul-naengmyeon (₩9,000)✨ This is the cold noodle soup from Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch, a gukbap spot in Seoul. The portion was really generous! You can choose your own toppings, and I went with just egg and cucumber.

![Mul-naengmyeon topped with egg and cucumber](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-20-uk77t-966.webp)

When you order the naengmyeon, mustard, vinegar, and chili paste come alongside it.

![Mustard, vinegar, and chili paste served with the naengmyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-21-9r5fr-966.webp)

Ah, gukbap is great for a hangover, but you know cold noodles are just as amazing, right??? The naengmyeon, full of icy shards, really cleared my head. The noodles were also chewy and delicious!!

![Wrapping sliced pork and cucumber with naengmyeon noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles/bosung-hoegwan-cheonho-hangover-noodles-22-zpo09-966.webp)

Wrapping the cucumber and cold sliced pork together with the naengmyeon was an amazing combination of soft meat and that sharp, cool bite!!! You have to try it together!!

## Is Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch worth it?

Today's visit was to Boseung Hoegwan Cheonho Station Branch, a 24-hour gukbap spot in Gangdong, and it's the best one I've tried among all the Boseung Hoegwan branches I've been to. It's also great value, and being open 24 hours every day means you can drop in anytime. If you need a hangover cure in Cheonho, I highly recommend this place!!!!
