## In short

Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom is a Chinese restaurant in Godeok, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. We ordered extra-large gan-jjajang, extra-large Gobul Jjambbong, small tangsuyuk, and a bowl of rice for smoky, spicy noodles, crisp old-school sweet-and-sour pork, and richly savory black bean noodles. Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom is a great pick when old-school Chinese Korean food is calling.

Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom (장수짬뽕전문점), a great spot in Godeok, Pyeongtaek, has convenient parking, and even the exterior gives off serious hidden-gem energy. I get so excited whenever I visit a place in this style, haha.

![Warm, familiar Chinese restaurant interior](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-03-8u0py-900.webp)

The inside had that warm, familiar Chinese restaurant feel too, haha. I loved that it had such a classic Chinese restaurant interior.

## The menu, from jjambbong to gan-jjajang

![Jjambbong menu at Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-04-1ct39-900.webp)

There are so many delicious choices: gan-jjajang (black bean noodles with separately cooked sauce), old-school jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup), white jjambbong, meat jjambbong, Gobul Jjambbong, oyster jjambbong, shrimp fried rice, jjambbong rice dishes, jajang, tangsuyuk (Korean sweet-and-sour pork), and more 🫶 We ordered extra-large gan-jjajang, extra-large Gobul Jjambbong, small tangsuyuk, and a bowl of rice!

## Trying Gobul Jjambbong, tangsuyuk, and gan-jjajang

Ta-da ✨ The signature dishes from this Godeok, Pyeongtaek spot all together. Everything looks incredible, right? Hahaha. Chinese food makes me crave it every single time I see itㅠㅠㅠㅠ

It is a jjambbong specialist, but I saw lots of reviews saying the gan-jjajang and tangsuyuk were good too. Both were delicious!! It feels like whatever you order at Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom will be above average?!

![Old-school-style tangsuyuk](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-09-1hm1d-900.webp)

### Old-school tangsuyuk that stayed crisp to the end

The old-school-style tangsuyuk was especially charming. Crisp on the outside and juicy inside, with a sauce, fried coating, and cabbage combination that worked so well, haha. It had been such a long time since I had this kind of dish, so I was happy to see it again, hahaha.

I especially liked that the pork was thick and the batter was not too heavy. I really hate soggy tangsuyuk, but this stayed crisp until the end, hahaha. I am one of those people who thinks crispness is everything for tangsuyuk.

![Tangsuyuk sauce and cabbage accompaniment](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-12-60xjj-769.webp)

The sauce was just right, and the cabbage was a total game changer, haha. It is a style you do not often see at Chinese restaurants these days, so Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom is perfect for anyone missing this kind of food, haha.

![Signature Gobul Jjambbong at Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-13-15bhn-1200.webp)

![Gobul Jjambbong topped with bulgogi](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-14-132s8-900.webp)

### Gobul Jjambbong filled with smoky heat

And then there is Gobul Jjambbong, Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom's signature dish!! It is a smoky jjambbong topped with bulgogi (marinated grilled beef). There was a generous amount of meat too. One bite and the smoky aroma and spiciness spread right through your mouth, hahaha. I had not been drinking, but it still felt like hangover food, hahaha.

Most of all, the broth is re~ally rich. With the meat on top, it also had a bit of a meat-stew feel—familiar yet new at the same time, hahaha.

![Gobul Jjambbong with rich broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-15-1cp62-900.webp)

![Chewy noodles in Gobul Jjambbong](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-16-13olm-900.webp)

The noodles were nice and chewy too, haha. They went down so smoothly without that floury taste, which I loved. The noodles were totally my kind of thing, hahaha.

### Rich chunjang aroma in the gan-jjajang, plus rice mixed into the leftover sauce

Lastly, the gan-jjajang. I ordered it without huge expectations, but it ended up being one of the dishes I really enjoyed here in Godeok, Pyeongtaek. Jajang is still the best when it comes to Chinese food, right? 👍👍👍 Can you see that glossy shine? Hahaha.

![Glossy gan-jjajang sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-18-1jmn8-900.webp)

The thick, savory-salty sauce had a strong chunjang (Korean black bean paste) aroma, and it was exactly the jajang style I love, so I enjoyed it far more than expected, haha. We all kept saying, “Is the jajang secretly even better?!” haha. Do try the gan-jjajang rather than regular jajang, haha.

![Gan-jjajang noodles with a rich chunjang aroma](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-19-gkeg9-900.webp)

![Leftover gan-jjajang sauce and a bowl of rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles/pyeongtaek-godeok-jangsujjamppong-noodles-20-16p3l-900.webp)

Personally, the noodles were good too, but mixing rice into the leftover jajang sauce was so delicious, hahaha. Next time I should try jajang rice. Overall, this was a Godeok, Pyeongtaek restaurant where I enjoyed everything!

## Final thoughts

An old-school Chinese food spot in Pyeongtaek: savory-salty jajang, rich jjambbong, and crisp tangsuyuk.
