Today I'm introducing a bakery café favorite in Haenggung-dong: Caffeine Focus.

## Where is Caffeine Focus, and where do you park?

Caffeine Focus is at 15 Changnyongdae-ro 80beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It sits right in front of the Hwaseong Fortress wall, so the view alone makes it worth the trip. Street parking looked available nearby.

Caffeine Focus is a standalone building, and both the 1st and 2nd floors are café space. It's a Haenggung-dong café with cold-proofed ciabatta, egg scones, cheesecake, and other desserts alongside coffee.

Both floors have a terrace and seating. It's a Suwon Haenggung-dong spot with a lovely view where you can sip tea while looking out at the fortress wall ❤️ I visited on a rainy day, and it had a nice, moody atmosphere.

The drink-making area was open to view, and the interior was well organized and clean.

Caffeine Focus has coffee and dessert, and you can try a variety of house-baked ciabattas. The dessert lineup includes ciabatta, egg scones, muffins, and cheesecake — all good pairings with coffee. They also have sandwiches and Greek yogurt, so it's easy to make a simple brunch out of it.

Most of the ciabatta comes out around the 11am opening time. It was neatly arranged in the display case and looked very sanitary.

## Cold-proofed ciabatta at Caffeine Focus: types and prices

Caffeine Focus is a ciabatta spot in Haenggung-dong. They use a natural sourdough starter and cold-proof the dough for over 12 hours, so you get a really carefully made ciabatta. As a meal-bread lover, there was no way I wasn't stopping by!

This is the cold-fermented plain ciabatta. Made with sourdough, it's chewy and has a springy texture. They also sell sandwiches, so it's a good spot for brunch too.

Choco-fig, ₩6,800. I've had plain, cheese, and olive ciabatta plenty of times, but this was my first time seeing a chocolate ciabatta. Paired with fig — how could that not be good? Haha.

Olive cheese, ₩5,300. A ciabatta with a nice savory balance of salty cheese and olive flavor.

Balsamic olive oil, ₩1,000. You can buy balsamic olive oil to dip your ciabatta in. It comes in a small portion, so it felt easy to grab without any pressure to finish a big bottle.

Cardamom granola, ₩12,000. This is granola baked in-house. Caffeine Focus also has Greek yogurt, and the granola topping looked nutty and crunchy.

## What's on the drink menu at Caffeine Focus?

This is the menu as of September 2026. Coffee, lattes, a variety of leaf teas, and signature drinks — quite a lineup.

A canister that looks like it holds some lovely tea. I don't know much about tea, but it seemed like they steep loose leaves directly.

## Fortress views from the mid-century second floor

The 2nd floor of Caffeine Focus is decorated in a mid-century style. The interior is cozy and has a relaxed atmosphere.

Windows are placed throughout the space, and the view of the eaves and the fortress wall outside made this a legit fortress-view spot.

The lighting was neither too bright nor too dim — a soft glow that I liked even more.

This is the window you see from the stairs going up. Every single corner of the space was beautiful.

## Taking home three ciabattas, and how to store them

I packed three kinds: choco-fig, olive cheese, and plain ciabatta. They also ask if you want it sliced when packing — I asked for mine whole.

- It can be frozen for up to 2 weeks.

## How the plain, olive cheese and choco-fig ciabatta taste

This is a cross-section of the plain ciabatta, and the air pockets are really alive. It had that fluffy, chewy quality!

The olive cheese ciabatta had a salty, nutty, rich cheese flavor. I ate it plain and it wasn't too salty — the seasoning was just right.

Chocolate lovers, pay attention. It's not a super-sweet chocolate bread — you get chocolate chips in occasional bites, which gave it a different kind of flavor. The fig you bite into partway through was the real kicker.

Can you see the chewy texture? The choco ciabatta is great as a snack, the plain one was mild and nutty, and the olive ciabatta — cheese plus olive — is a combo you can trust without even thinking twice.

Overall, it's a Haenggung-dong café with a great atmosphere, good for spending time calmly. It's a nice stop while walking around the fortress, so if you're looking for a spot with a pretty view and good coffee and dessert, I'd recommend giving it a visit.
