## In short

Baek Sojeong is a Japanese restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, near Nambu Bus Terminal Station and the International Electronics Center. On a return visit, salmon zaru soba and four-piece cheese katsu cost 13,900 won and 13,500 won. Verdict: a place worth revisiting for chilled soba and crispy cheese katsu.

## Returning to Baek Sojeong near Nambu Bus Terminal

It is on the first floor at 39 Hyoryeong-ro 55-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul, a four-minute walk from Exit 6 of Nambu Bus Terminal Station. Parking is available in front of the restaurant, but I recommend asking before you arrive.

Open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00 and last orders at 20:00. Zero Pay and Naver Pay are accepted.

I came back to Baek Sojeong (백소정), a popular spot near the International Electronics Center, for pork cutlet after quite a while.

![Neat interior of Baek Sojeong Nambu Bus Terminal](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong-03-15y3h-900.webp)

Baek Sojeong always has such a neat atmosphere! I took this photo right as it opened at 11, so there were not many people, but it gradually filled with all kinds of guests—solo diners, couples, friends, and office workers.

It seems to be busy with nearby office workers on weekdays, and on weekends it gets crowded because it is known as a good place to eat around Nambu Bus Terminal and the International Electronics Center.

I like Baek Sojeong because the tableware comes out neatly arranged, and even the water tastes good.

## What is the difference between chilled soba and zaru soba?

Chilled soba comes with the noodles in broth, while zaru soba is soba noodles dipped into cool tsuyu (Japanese dipping sauce).

![Comparison of salmon chilled soba and zaru soba](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong-12-5stzl-900.webp)

I had salmon chilled soba last time, and since the salmon went so well with the soba noodles, I ordered the zaru soba this time.

![Zaru soba with salmon](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong-13-18tpm-900.webp)

There is a surprisingly generous amount of salmon in it, and it looks a bit like salmon noodles.

![Soba dipped in cool tsuyu](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong-14-xox38-900.webp)

The tsuyu is cool and refreshing, and not overly salty—so good.

![Salmon zaru soba served with roasted seaweed](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong-15-goi49-900.webp)

The chilled soba did not come with gim (roasted seaweed), but the zaru soba does. Put soba, salmon, and wasabi on the gim, then dip it in the tsuyu—it is pure happiness.. (I ate it today and already want it again.)

Both the chilled soba and zaru soba are delicious, so I recommend chilled soba when you want a cool broth, and zaru soba when you want to enjoy the cleaner taste of tsuyu more!

## Crispy cheese katsu

Baek Sojeong’s cheese katsu is just beyond words..

![Cheese katsu filled with mozzarella](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong-18-ce98u-900.webp)

Inside the crispy coating is plenty of rich yet mild mozzarella cheese, and the meat is nicely chewy. Delicious.

Finished with a sweet rice cake ~

These are the cheese assorted katsu and mazesoba from my first visit. I first discovered Baek Sojeong through its mazesoba and cheese katsu, and they are always delicious..! Next time, I need to try the mazedon too XD

![Mouthwash and candy offered by the restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong/seoul-salmon-zarusoba-baeksojeong-24-ano2t-900.webp)

There is mouthwash and candy too, so it is nice to pick some up on your way out. I hope thoughtful Baek Sojeong Nambu Bus Terminal does even better.
