Samsin Garosu-gil is a Chinese restaurant serving course meals on Garosu-gil in Sinsa, Gangnam, Seoul. To celebrate paying off the final balance on a home, the writer ordered the A-course at 25,000 won per person plus an add-on of kimchi fried rice, from a hot Sokcho crab soup on a rainy day through to mango sherbet. ## Why we chose a Garosu-gil Chinese course to celebrate the final payment

On August 31, a day when it was drizzling steadily, we finished paying off our loan ^.^ Since we were happy, off to eat the Chinese course meal my boyfriend loves! We headed to Garosu-gil. On a day like this you kind of need to eat something special to really make it feel like a celebration, so we decided on the Chinese course we'd been wanting to try!

Hours are 11:00–23:00, with a break time of 15:00–17:00 (from 4pm on weekends). Parking available, valet available (₩5,000)!

## Finding the tiled-roof building near Sinsa Station

Exit 8 of Sinsa Station, go straight, and turn left at the entrance to Garosu-gil — that's where you'll find Samsin in a building with a traditional tiled roof. The tiled exterior really stood out even from far away, haha. It had this oddly perfect fit with the distinct atmosphere of Garosu-gil.

## Inside Samsin Garosu-gil: a grand Korean-Chinese-Japanese space

The interior blends Korean, Chinese, and Japanese elements so well that the space felt grand the moment we walked in! We'd made a reservation beforehand, and it was already set up like this. Everything was gleaming and neatly arranged, which instantly put me in a good mood, haha. That kind of careful preparation really builds anticipation before the meal even starts.

There was also music playing — apparently their own custom-made BGM for Samsin! You could kind of tell it was AI-generated, lol, but it was still fun and surprising that they went to the trouble of making their own soundtrack. The staff were also super friendly, so even as first-time visitors we felt right at ease!

So that's what they say... take a moment to read the restaurant's philosophy on your way in! The staff really were very kind. And take one more look at that gleaming, neatly arranged tableware.

## What comes in the A-course, plus kimchi fried rice

Here's the lunch course menu! We ordered the A-course: Sokcho crab soup — handmade dim sum sampler (2 pieces) — Tokyo tangsuyuk — noodles (choice of Taean potato jajangmyeon or meat jjamppong) — dessert. The kimchi fried rice looked so good we added it on top.

This came as a basic side. The kimchi was a bit spicy, but it actually sharpened our appetite, lol.

## Sokcho crab soup, even better on a rainy day

The Sokcho crab soup came out first, and maybe because it was raining, it warmed us right up. It was packed with real crab meat — every spoonful came up with crab, and the broth had a rich, deep flavor. I had no idea a warm bowl of soup on a rainy day could feel this healing, T_T

### Xiaolongbao bursting with juice

The dim sum was xiaolongbao, and it looked so good already... The filling was so juicy that when I bit into it, the broth burst out — it felt amazing! Thin wrapper packed with juicy filling is proof of quality dim sum, haha. It was a shame there were only 2 pieces, but that just made us savor them more carefully, lol.

### Adding the kimchi fried rice was the best decision

The kimchi fried rice we added on had a huge portion and great-quality fried bits, haha. Since it's a course meal I figured the portions would be small so I added it on (plus my boyfriend really wanted it), and I was genuinely surprised when it arrived, lol. Eating it with the crispy fried topping was a perfect combo, and it was ideal to munch on between courses. Adding the kimchi fried rice was such a smart move... If you're getting the A-course, don't even think twice — just add it, highly recommend!

### Sweet, crispy Tokyo tangsuyuk

The Tokyo tangsuyuk was sweet and delicious, in a style quite different from regular tangsuyuk, which felt refreshing, haha. This one also had a thin, crispy batter that I loved.

![Mango sherbet for dessert](https://img.superchart.com/images/sinsa-garosugil-crab-soup-samsin/sinsa-garosugil-crab-soup-samsin-19-322sm-900.webp)

## From Taean potato jajangmyeon to mango sherbet

We ate jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) loaded with potato and jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) packed with meat, then finished off with mango sherbet for dessert, yum. The jajangmyeon had fluffy Taean potatoes that were delicious, and the jjamppong had a spicy broth with generous chunks of meat — both were great, haha. The mango sherbet was sweet and refreshing, the perfect way to wrap up the course.

## Is Samsin Garosu-gil worth it for a celebration meal?

Who knew there was a place in Gangnam where you could eat this well for ₩25,000 a person! The course was well put together, and every single dish had good quality, so overall satisfaction was really high. Given the Garosu-gil location, I expected prices to be on the higher side, but for this quality at this price, it genuinely felt reasonable, haha.

Since this was the meal we had to celebrate finishing our loan payoff, it's going to stick in my memory as something extra special, haha. From the warm crab soup on a rainy day to the sweet tangsuyuk and the mango sherbet, every single course was satisfying!! A perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion, and just as good for a Garosu-gil date course. I genuinely recommend this as one of the best Chinese restaurants near Sinsa Station 😊
