There was a Seongsu handmade burger spot I'd been wanting to try for the longest time, and I finally made it happen! 🍔✨ bd Burger Seongsu is on the 2nd floor of a building on Seongsu-iro 14-gil, near Seongsu Station's Yeonmujang-gil.

They're open 11:30-21:00, last order at 20:30, and there's a restroom too.

Ever since I had a shrimp burger (Dos Burger) in Guam, I've always kept an eye out for good shrimp burger spots! I'd seen reels and reviews saying this place is famous for its shrimp burger, so I decided to visit. This is bd Burger Seongsu! Let's get into the review~ 🐷

## Inside bd Burger Seongsu: the space and the self-bar

The interior at bd Burger Seongsu stood out with its clean yet hip purple + white + silver combination. There's a self-bar on one side where you can grab what you need yourself.

Stepping inside, the clean-yet-hip purple + white + silver combo really stood out. It matched the distinct Seongsu vibe really well~! 🪩✨

And there was a self-bar set up on one side. (Wet wipes, disposable gloves, forks, knives, water, etc.) It was convenient being able to grab whatever you needed yourself!

You order directly at the table, and when your food is ready you check for the notice via the table display.

## The bd Burger Seongsu menu and what was ordered

bd Burger Seongsu had a range of menu items to choose from depending on your taste, from basic beef burgers to bulgogi and shrimp. 🍔 Along with burgers there were sides like fries and drinks like milkshakes, making it a solid lineup for enjoying burgers and sides together!

We ordered several items this time to try one by one haha

### bd Grilled Shrimp Avocado: avocado, bacon and plump shrimp

The Grilled Shrimp Avocado at bd Burger Seongsu is a burger where the nuttiness of avocado meets the salty smoky flavor of bacon. The shrimp texture running through it was the highlight.

When the smooth, nutty avocado met the salty, smoky flavor of the bacon, the overall taste felt so much richer. And I loved feeling the plump, springy texture of the shrimp tucked in between bites. 🦐

I'm not sure exactly what sauce it was, but it felt like a chipotle-type sauce — slightly smoky and spicy. It cut through the richness of the avocado, and the nuttiness + saltiness + slight spice all came together really well haha

### Double Cheese Burger: the top pick of the day

Of everything we ate at bd Burger Seongsu that day, my personal favorite was the double cheese burger. The cheese was properly melted right onto the patty, so the salty cheese flavor hit first, followed immediately by the juices.

And my personal pick of everything we ate that day was the double cheese burger! 🧀🍔 The cheese was properly melted onto the patty, so with the first bite you got the nutty, salty flavor of the cheese, then the juices came flooding in right after. The rich, salty cheese combined with the meat juices meant that even without a ton of extra toppings, the meat + cheese combo alone was delicious. If you love handmade burgers, you really need to try this one. Please, if you haven't had it, go get it... 🥹

### Butter garlic fries vs original fries at bd Burger

We ordered two types of fries — butter garlic fries and original fries. The butter garlic fries had a sauce on top that wasn't just sweet, but had a salty note running through it too.

Next up, fries! 🍟 We ordered the two types above. The sauce on the garlic fries was genuinely delicious. Usually fries with a sweet sauce can get a bit much after a while, but here it wasn't just strongly sweet — it had salty and sweet together, which I liked even more.

On top of that, the deep garlic flavor paired really well with the plain, savory taste of the fries themselves haha

### Milk Shake and Zero Coke: a milkshake with strong milk flavour

The milkshake at bd Burger Seongsu had a style where the rich, nutty flavor of the milk stood out more than a typical milkshake. It sweetly balanced out the saltiness of the burger, making it great to drink alongside one.

Lastly, the drinks! The milkshake in particular really impressed me haha 🥛 I was like, 'wait, is this made with Sanghamokjang milk?' — that's how nutty and rich the milk flavor was. I don't know the exact ingredients or brand, but it had a style where the milk flavor was much richer than a typical milkshake! So taking a bite of burger and then a sip of milkshake sweetly wiped away the saltiness! I'd definitely recommend the burger + milkshake combo haha 🥤

## Verdict: the Double Cheese Burger on a return visit to bd Burger

bd Burger Seongsu is a strong recommend. I got to properly taste what a handmade burger should taste like, and if I go back, I think I'd get the double cheese burger again.

I finally got to try bd Burger Seongsu, which I'd been curious about for a long time! 🍔 I got to properly taste what a real handmade burger tastes like. If you're craving something a little different 🥤 and looking for a good burger spot near Seongsu Station or a date course, this could be worth a visit haha. Personally, if I go back, I think I'd get the double cheese again. 🤭
