There's a bakery café at Mulwang Reservoir that bakes everything fresh daily. It's a standalone building with an outdoor deck, so it has that full terrace-café vibe with a wide-open view — a real find in Mokgam-dong by Mulwang Reservoir.

## What to order at Flowerpot, the bakery café at Mulwang Reservoir

Flowerpot Cafe & Bakery is a bakery café right in front of Mulwang Reservoir. The variety of bread was huge — I agonized over what to pick.

With so many windows and such an open feel, pretty much any seat has a good view. I grabbed a crispy walnut bread, red bean bread, ssam-butter soboro, and a canelé.

Crispy outside, savory-sweet inside — there's cream cheese hidden in there. Loads of walnuts too, so it's really crunchy.

The canelé had a strong vanilla scent, and the chewy, moist inside paired well with the crisp shell. Come to think of it, I guess I just love anything crispy, chewy, and nutty haha.

Honestly everything was good. Nothing was overly sweet or heavy — it was all easy, comfortable eating overall.

## Flowerpot's bread case: September fig bakes and cake slices

Freshly made breads kept coming out, so it was hard to decide what to choose.

Orange marmalade bread ₩8,500, lemon roll ₩8,500, castella ₩7,500. The name tag said strawberry, but figs were what's actually out — September is peak fig season, after all. Fig croissant ₩8,500, fig mont blanc ₩9,500. Both had generous, soft whipped cream that seemed like it would pair perfectly with the sweet fresh fruit.

The fig pound cake (₩8,500) and lemon pound cake (₩7,800) were individually wrapped too. I love figs so much I really agonized over it (I'm usually not a pound cake person...).

There were egg tarts and canelés too.

Walnut cream cheese, sweet potato bread, nurungji (scorched rice) bread, chewy croissants — the case was full of exactly the kind of crispy, crunchy, sweet-chewy bread I love.

The blueberry cream cheese bread was pretty just from its color. And the red bean bread and salt bread — the bakery classics — were big and cheap too.

## Inside Flowerpot Cafe: what each of the three floors is like

Flowerpot Cafe & Bakery has an open feel from the ground floor up thanks to folding doors, and there are so many plants it feels like a botanical garden. The first floor is pet-friendly.

The second floor has the counter and bread display, plus an outdoor deck for that al fresco feeling. The third floor has just tables, but the outdoor terrace up there is huge.

With warm sun but a strong breeze like today, feeling the wind without needing AC was really nice. So I spent my time relaxing on the third floor. The second floor tends to be busier, while more people go up to the third floor to enjoy some quiet alone time. It was quiet and relaxed — I liked it.

The wide-open view was great, with mountains visible in the distance and a really blue sky — just perfect. If you're on a date at Mulwang Reservoir, definitely stop by.

Each floor has its own distinct mood, and since it's a large standalone bakery café building, it feels relaxed and open.

You can park in front of the building, and there's plenty of open space behind it too.

The road right in front is a narrow alley, so I wandered around for a bit wondering if this was really the right place — you do need to turn slightly into the alley (I'm someone who's bad at reading navigation, to be fair).

If you're out for a walk around Mulwang Reservoir in Mokgam-dong, stop by once.
