## In short

Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae Branch is a Korean restaurant serving clam kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), buckwheat noodles and dumplings on Gangnam-daero 18-gil in Yangjae, Seocho, Seoul. Two of us ordered clam kalguksu and wang mandu (large dumplings) and shared the clear, refreshing broth with the oversized dumplings; the four free parking spots out front were taken, so we used a nearby public lot. Seonbawi Memil Jangteo runs from 09:00 to 21:00 with no break time, which makes it an easy choice even when you miss the usual lunch hour.

Looking for a warm lunch in Yangjae, I went for clam kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and wang mandu (large dumplings). Seonbawi Memil Jangteo has clam-packed kalguksu, buckwheat dishes and dumplings, so it was easy to find something good for lunch.

There's free parking right in front, and a separate 50-seat group space on the 2nd floor. Baby chairs are ready too, and with no break time it's easy for family meals or bigger groups. You can also book ahead through Catch Table :)

## Where is Seonbawi Memil Jangteo in Yangjae, and what are its hours?

This is the Yangjae restaurant I visited for clam kalguksu — Seonbawi Memil Jangteo.

It's also walkable from Yangjae Citizens' Forest Station, so access was pretty decent.

## What to do when the free parking in front is full

Seonbawi Memil Jangteo has parking right in front of the restaurant, which is convenient if you're driving, but there are only about 4 spots. When we went it was already full, so we parked at a nearby public lot and walked over.

There's a public lot at Yangjae Neighborhood Park and another at Maeheon Citizen's Forest nearby, so use those if the spots in front are taken.

## Inside Seonbawi Memil Jangteo and the 50-seat group room upstairs

Walking in, the place was bigger than I expected. The tables weren't cramped, and there were seats well suited for bigger groups too.

The 2nd floor in particular has a separate 50-seat group space. It's good to know that beyond group bookings, you can also rent the whole room — handy if you're planning a gathering or a work dinner in Yangjae.

## Baby chairs and all-day service with no break time

For anyone visiting with kids, there were baby chairs too. A lot of people check in advance whether a restaurant has baby chairs, and sure enough, they had some set aside on one side.

Being open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with no break time was convenient too. You don't have to awkwardly wait around if you miss lunch a bit, and you can also book ahead through Catch Table.

## Clam kalguksu packed with clams in a clear broth

What we ordered at Seonbawi Memil Jangteo that day was clam kalguksu and wang mandu!

![A bowl of kalguksu topped with clams](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time-11-1qq6e-966.webp)

![Close-up of clams piled generously on the kalguksu](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time-12-18agx-966.webp)

The first thing that caught my eye when the kalguksu arrived was, of course, the clams. There were so many piled on top of the bowl that it looked refreshing just from the sight of it.

![Chopsticks lifting noodles from the clam kalguksu](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time-13-1vc3o-966.webp)

I tried a bite of the noodles first — soft going down but not overcooked. Eating it with the warm broth felt filling. Above all, the broth was clean and refreshing, so my spoon kept going back for more. The savory flavor from the clams was naturally soaked into the broth, so it became noodles, then a sip of broth, then noodles again.

![A spoonful of the refreshing clam kalguksu broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time-14-1gmkw-966.webp)

![Picking clams out of the kalguksu one by one](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time-15-5nidw-966.webp)

Picking the clams out one by one was fun too. Just one bowl of kalguksu was pretty filling, and I could see why so many people in Yangjae come here for kalguksu at lunch.

## Why wang mandu is the perfect side for kalguksu

It felt like a waste to eat just the kalguksu, so we also ordered Seonbawi Memil Jangteo's wang mandu.

![A plate of large wang mandu dumplings](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time-16-1duqz-966.webp)

They were big enough that the name 'wang mandu' (king dumplings) suited them well, and when I cut one in half, the filling was generous too. Eating it fresh and hot, the dumpling skin and filling went really well together, and it was even better paired with the kalguksu broth.

![A wang mandu cut in half showing the filling](https://img.superchart.com/images/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time/yangjae-clam-kalguksu-no-break-time-17-yf0rn-966.webp)

The combo of eating kalguksu, grabbing a dumpling, then going back to the cool broth was great. If you're visiting as a pair, sharing clam kalguksu with wang mandu is a good move. They also have a variety of buckwheat dishes, so I'd like to try something else next time.

A day of eating warm clam kalguksu and hefty wang mandu until I was full! It's a good combo to remember among Yangjae lunch spots when you're craving something with broth. Especially with free parking in front, a 50-seat group space on the 2nd floor, baby chairs, no break time, and Catch Table reservations, I could check off everything I was curious about before visiting :)
