On this Jeju trip we went for lunch with our baby at Nopo Dwaeji in Aewol. Since we're always eating out with a baby, taste matters but so does whether the place has a comfortable setup — baby chairs, baby dishware, that kind of thing. This visit to Nopo Dwaeji Aewol turned out to be an easy one to eat at with a baby, so I wanted to share it.

We were looking for a lunch spot around Aewol and ended up at Nopo Dwaeji. Since we planned to bring our baby, we made a Naver reservation ahead of time. Once we arrived, it seemed the restaurant had noted we were coming with a baby — they'd already set up a baby chair and baby dishware. When eating out with a baby, you sometimes end up waiting at the table while staff set up the chair, so it was great to be able to start eating as soon as we sat down.

What we ordered was the lunch special black pork samgyeopsal (pork belly). We figured we had to eat black pork since we were in Jeju, and our baby loves meat too, so it was an easy choice.

Since it was the lunch special, it came as a combo of black pork samgyeopsal and jjigae (stew), which made for a light, easy meal during our Jeju trip. The rice was kelp rice, and it was so good on its own that even the baby ate it well. The jjigae included in the lunch special had crab in it, and it was really refreshing and tasty. The meat was grilled and cut into bite-sized pieces for us, so all we had to do was look after the baby — that made things easy.

It was also nice that we could get extra wraps at the self-serve corner.

Beyond the baby chair, they'd also prepared separate dishware for our baby to use, and what I liked most was that it was suction dishware. Most places just give you unbreakable plastic dishes, and babies often push or flip them while eating, so having this small detail covered made feeding a lot easier during the meal. They also gave us a sheet of seaweed for the baby, which made me feel like this was a place that really thinks about guests dining with babies.

Another thing I personally liked was the indoor environment. One reason people hesitate to bring a baby to a grill house is the smoke and smell from cooking meat, but Nopo Dwaeji Aewol had a spacious, comfortable interior, so we didn't feel much discomfort during the meal. Even while grilling meat, the indoor air didn't feel smoky, which made it fine to eat there with a baby.
