This is Yeoyejeong 🥩 ## Where is Yeoyejeong, and how are parking and pickup? Yeoyejeong is at 49 Ssangsolbaegi-gil, Seomyeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do. Hours are 11:30–21:00, with a break time from 15:00–17:00, and it's closed every Tuesday. It's in a somewhat quiet location, so it's more convenient to visit by car. Instead, there's a large parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so I had zero worries about parking 🚗 If you're doing most of your Gangwon-do trip by car, this seems like a fine place to stop for dinner. And for those without a car, apparently the restaurant also runs a pickup service. From the outside, since it's a restaurant surrounded by nature, I thought the interior might be a bit rustic too — but once inside it was totally different. It was broadly organized into - Marinated/fresh ribs - Pork belly/pork jowl - Beef (flower galbi, chuck flap tail) - Lunch sets and so on. Here, the banchan were served neatly, and among them the burdock root was so good. Once you pick up one piece of burdock while eating meat, your hand just keeps going back for more haha. The lettuce was also really fresh 🥬 I'm not sure if they grow it themselves, but the vegetables looked genuinely fresh and were great for wrapping with the meat. The one small downside was there was no separate self-serve bar. Still, whenever we needed something, the staff brought it right away, so it wasn't much of an inconvenience. And then the marinated pork ribs we'd been waiting for arrived 🥩 First of all, the portion was pretty generous. And just looking at the meat, the quality seemed good. Sometimes when you order marinated pork ribs, the marinade tastes great but the meat itself is disappointing. Here, there was none of that feeling at all. The meat itself looked good, and the marinade wasn't too sweet or too salty — it was just right. So instead of getting sick of it after a few bites like some marinated ribs, this was a flavor you kept wanting more of haha. Turns out they make the marinade themselves and marinate the meat by hand. Since the meat is already marinated, if you're not careful it burns fast, but if you grill it too gently, it doesn't cook through properly... But here, even when I did the grilling myself, the meat somehow turned out well cooked?! Did my grilling skills suddenly improve?! Haha, curious, I asked about the charcoal, and they said they use coffee-wood bincho-tan charcoal 🔥 Apparently, even when fat drips down, the charcoal absorbs it, which cuts down on flare-ups. Oh... I'd never even known charcoal like this existed haha. I was curious whether it was the marinade or the meat that was making it so good. And sure enough, the fresh ribs were delicious too. The meat was tender, and there was plenty of juiciness when you bit into it 🤤 The marinated ribs were great in their own way, and the fresh ribs let you taste the meat itself, so eating both together had its own kind of charm. While we were enjoying our meal, people kept coming in and out. Turns out this place is apparently pretty well-known around here haha. In particular, there were a lot of families. There were baby chairs ready, so it seemed fine to visit with young children too. On one wall, there was a space where kids could draw pictures and stick them up, and seeing kids drawing there was so cute haha 🎨 So if you're traveling to Yangyang as a family, this seems like a satisfying choice for dinner.
