My husband has been wanting to try Hongdae Gureume for a while now. Guess it's a must-visit for noodle lovers haha. When I looked it up beforehand, it was already known as a well-loved restaurant in Incheon Nonhyeon.

Inside, the place is decorated super vividly. It kind of feels like you've stepped into a local favorite restaurant in Japan...? Suddenly I want to go back to Fukuoka.

## Three ramen styles at Hongdae Gureume: which one to pick?

Hongdae Gureume's ramen comes in three types: Kumamoto-style (tonkotsu broth + black garlic sauce), Korean-style (tonkotsu broth + spicy sauce), and Fukuoka-style (tonkotsu broth), so you can pick to your taste. Being spice-wimps as Koreans go, we went with the milder Fukuoka-style.

## Weekday lunch set prices at Hongdae Gureume

Since we went for weekday lunch, there was a value-priced lunch set menu too. The Alchan Lunch is ramen + onigiri (₩9,900), the Deundeunhan Lunch is ramen + karaage (₩12,900), and the Silsok Lunch is ramen + 3 pieces of today's sushi (₩13,900) — all affordable combos of ramen plus a side. Here too, you can choose your ramen type from the three options.

If ramen doesn't sound appealing, there's cold soba too, available as a cold soba set or cold soba with pork cutlet set.

As full-course sets, there was also a ramen set, a sushi set, and a chirashi-style sushi set. There were so many options we had a happy dilemma choosing.

## Alchan Lunch, 9,900 won: Fukuoka-style ramen and tuna onigiri

First up is what I ordered: the Alchan Lunch set with Fukuoka-style ramen and tuna onigiri.

There was so much ramen I thought I couldn't finish it, so I gave some to my husband — it also had a generous amount of chashu, which was delicious.

This is the tuna onigiri. Tuna piled on the outside, and tuna inside too. The rice was also seasoned with pickled radish, which paired really well with the ramen.

## What comes with the 20,500 won Pork Belly Overload Chashu Ramen Set

And here's what my husband ordered: the Pork Belly Overload Chashu Ramen Set (₩20,500). Being a full set, it came loaded with food — 2 eggs, and tons of chashu.

My husband said this was so delicious. What looked like inari sushi, tuna mayo, and flying fish roe on top — it all looked delicious just to look at.

It really is pork belly overload. So much chashu piled on top that you can't even see the noodles.

The side dishes that came with it: lettuce salad, sweet pumpkin, fried shrimp, karaage, pickles, and candied sweet potato. Seems like a set that fills you up if ramen alone isn't enough. The fried shrimp and karaage were super crispy and tasty too — not just the main dish, but the sides were great as well.

## Table lucky draw and final verdict on Hongdae Gureume

Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch has a lucky draw at each table, so while waiting for the food we drew tickets one by one and exchanged good wishes. The broth was richer and deeper than expected, so it was delicious from the very first sip, and the noodles were chewy, pairing well with the broth.

It's not just intensely flavored — it has a charm that keeps you eating. If you love ramen, this place is worth a visit at least once. Highly recommend for ramen in Incheon Nonhyeon.
