## In short

Raichen Chilgok Branch is a Vietnamese restaurant on the first floor of Heat Town in Chilgok 3-jigu, Buk-gu, Daegu. Two friends ordered Set A for two (37,500 won) and tried Hanoi-style pho, bun cha and banh xeo in one meal, in a restaurant that also has a group reservation room, a self-serve bar with chili peppers and onions, and baby chairs. Two minutes on foot from Palgeo Station Exit 3, Raichen Chilgok Branch works just as well for a get-together as for a meal for two.

Raichen Chilgok Branch is on the first floor of Heat Town, right across from the entrance to the Chilgok Homeplus parking lot. It's just a 2-minute walk from Palgeo Station Exit 3 toward Homeplus, so it's easy to reach by public transport.

It's open daily from 09:00 to 19:00, closed every Tuesday. Brunch items have a last order of 17:00, and the place also offers group seating, organic menu options, its own roastery, takeout discounts, and even welcomes pets.

## Inside Raichen Chilgok Branch: seating and the group room

Inside, the restaurant is decorated in ivory tones with wood furniture, giving it an interior full of authentic Vietnamese vibes. It felt warm and cozy, almost like being in Southeast Asia.

Tables inside range from seating for two up to six, and the gaps between tables are generous, so it's easy to chat. There's also a separate room reserved just for group bookings, so it seems great for gatherings or meetups 👍🏻

### Baby chairs, aprons and the self-serve bar

Baby chairs are also on hand, so it's a good place to bring kids for pho. There are aprons on a mannequin too — feel free to grab one yourself if you need it!

At the self-serve bar, you can help yourself to as much spicy chili and onion as you like, and there are even baby spoons ready — a perfect spot for families with kids.

## Raichen Chilgok Branch menu and the price of Set A for two

Looking through the menu at Raichen Chilgok Branch, there were many kinds of pho on offer. Beyond pho, there was also a wide range of Vietnamese home-style dishes and side dishes!

I ordered the Set A for two (₩37,500). It was a solid set menu that let us try Hanoi-style pho, bun cha, and banh xeo all at once 👍🏻

You can order via the tablet installed at each table, and there was a Naver review event running too. For September, the monthly discount menu was a banh xeo + charcoal-grilled bun cha + pork nem set. I'm curious what next month's discount menu will be.

## What comes with Set A for two

Our ordered Set A for two arrived :) A neat yet hearty spread of Hanoi-style pho, bun cha, and banh xeo 🍜 It looked so appetizing all I could think about was snapping a photo and digging in.

![Hanoi-style pho topped with brisket and bean sprouts](https://img.superchart.com/images/laichen-chilgok-group-room-self-bar/laichen-chilgok-group-room-self-bar-15-zyuei-966.webp)

### Hanoi-style pho

The Hanoi-style pho is made with broth simmered in-house for 24 hours from beef bones and brisket, so it's really rich and deep — I slurped up the broth first thing. It's generously loaded with tender brisket too, which was very satisfying 👍🏻 Best of all, there was plenty of crunchy bean sprouts, and eating them together with the noodles gave a great texture.

![Charcoal-grilled bun cha with nuoc mam sauce and meatballs](https://img.superchart.com/images/laichen-chilgok-group-room-self-bar/laichen-chilgok-group-room-self-bar-17-1spz9-966.webp)

### Charcoal-grilled bun cha and pork meatballs

The bun cha was full of charcoal-grilled flavor, and I enjoyed it dipping-style rather than pouring the sauce over. With lettuce and all sorts of vegetables piled high, it doubled the enjoyment. Especially the two meatballs sitting in the sweet-and-sour nuoc mam sauce — these had such a great smoky flavor that I ended up eating my friend's share too, they were that good ☺️ Bun cha is a dish that people of all ages seem to like without exception, so if you're new to Vietnamese food, I'd really recommend trying it.

### How to eat banh xeo at Raichen

Do you know the best way to eat banh xeo? Place the thick egg pancake — packed with lettuce, bean sprouts, shrimp, and meat — onto rice paper, roll it up, and dip it fully into the sauce. That's when it tastes like heaven 🤤 If you like spicy food, try drizzling on the chili sauce set out on every table. Personally, I found it even tastier with the chili sauce added 👍🏻

If you're looking for a great pho restaurant near Chilgok 3-jigu or Palgeo Station, I recommend Raichen Chilgok Branch, where you can feel like you've stepped into Vietnam 〰️
