Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch is a beef butcher restaurant on the 1st floor, 18 Janghan-ro, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, in a spot that's easy to find from Janghanpyeong Station. When I'm craving beef, I always end up looking for a jeongyuk sikdang (butcher-style meat restaurant) where I can really pile up the meat — so this time I went to Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang, the Janghanpyeong direct-run branch known as a local favorite near the station. It's close to the station, so it's easy to get to, and a great spot when you want to properly enjoy beef in Jangan-dong, so I wanted to introduce it!

Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang is in a spot that's easy to reach from Janghanpyeong Station, so accessibility is great. It's convenient whether you're meeting someone near the station or having a family meal out in Jangan-dong haha~

## Busy even early on a weekday: why the Big Beef Set is the menu to order

Even though I visited on an early weekday, Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch was buzzing with customers! The tables were almost all full haha, so it was actually a struggle just to get a photo of the menu lol.

When I go out for meat, the atmosphere matters, but personally what I care about most is how many different cuts I can try. That's exactly why I love jeongyuk sikdang — comparing different cuts is half the fun. This time too, after some deliberation over the menu, we ordered the big beef set so we could taste a variety of cuts evenly!

### Self-serve side dishes and doenjang jjigae in the middle of the grill

Basic side dishes are provided, and you can go grab refills yourself! My son loved the macaroni salad so much he finished it all lol. The seasoned green onion was great too — eaten together with the meat and some onion, it's honestly the best haha.

They also simmer a doenjang jjigae right in the middle of the grill, and this one was really tasty too haha. Dipping the beef belly into this doenjang jjigae is also delicious — a little tip I picked up lol.

The big beef set we ordered that day, 600g + 600g, was exactly what the name suggests — a chance to enjoy several beef cuts all at once. ### How the beef tastes grilled, with salt and lettuce wraps

As the meat started sizzling, that savory meat aroma rose up and really got the appetite going~ It had a clean yet savory flavor that I think basically anyone would like. Dipped lightly in salt, you get the pure taste of the meat itself, and it also paired well with wraps and other sides~

After working through the different cuts, grilling the beef belly last felt like a whole different experience. It's thin, so it cooks fast on the grill and is easy to eat, with a nice savory flavor that made it perfect to mix in between other cuts.
