I’m a real fan of light dough with toppings practically spilling over the edge, so I went in with high expectations. To give you the conclusion first, I was so happy to find a life-changing pizza that suited my taste perfectly for the first time in a while that I’m leaving a thorough, honest review!

## A pizza restaurant tucked into a Yeonnam-dong alley

Honestly, if you love pizza, you’ll probably nod the moment you arrive at the entrance and spot all the eye-catching badges. This is a proven Yeonnam-dong favorite, selected by the Blue Ribbon Survey for three consecutive years—2024, 2025, and 2026—and listed by Red Ribbon for those same three years.

On top of that, it apparently swept Coca-Cola’s nationwide restaurant selection title for three consecutive years, so my anticipation was already soaring before I had even tasted the food. Their slogan about making everything with care using fresh, honest ingredients did not feel like empty words.

Once inside, I was impressed by the clean but charming American-pub-style interior. On one side, there was a self-service bar that was kept hygienically clean.

I loved that I could help myself to cheese powder, hot sauce, and rich garlic dipping sauce—the essentials that should never be missing with pizza. Many places charge every time you add dipping sauce, but here you can dip generously to your liking or freely mix hot sauce and cheese powder, which made the experience even more satisfying.

Another major strength of Sunny's Pizza Market is its broad range of menu choices.

While we waited, we took in the Yeonnam-dong view through the window, snapped photos, and hung out—and then the pizza arrived. The freshly baked, piping-hot pizza was set on the table, and I couldn’t help exclaiming the moment I saw it.

True to its large size, it was generously big, but more than anything, the amount of topping was incredible. What impressed me most was the balance between the dough thickness and the toppings. The crust was thin and chewy, yet that not-too-thick dough was loaded with quality natural cheese and toppings.

Rather than feeling like I was filling up on bread, it felt as though the pure flavors of cheese and ingredients filled my mouth. Perhaps because they use 100% natural cheese, every time I lifted a slice, the cheese stretched on and on without breaking, which naturally made me smile.

## Sous-vide jambon and pineapple toppings

The depth of savory flavor was clearly on another level. What makes the pizza here special is its thoughtfully prepared ingredients. First, a house-made sauce with a deep flavor that is not overly salty provides a solid base. And the most surprising part was learning that the jambon used on the pizzas is sous-vide in-house.

Meat toppings on pizza are often dry or salty, but the meat on the Combination pizza melted softly in my mouth. It had none of that distinctive meat odor, and its moist texture greatly elevated the pizza’s overall quality.

Instead of cheap canned pineapple, the Hawaiian pizza uses generous pieces of high-quality Dole pineapple, so every bite burst with tangy, sweet juice. Add the thick bacon and savory natural cheese, and it was a textbook sweet-and-salty combination.

Alternating bites of Combination and Hawaiian pizza, we cleared the whole pie in no time without ever getting tired of it. Thanks to one pizza made with so much care, we had a generous, cheerful lunch.

If you’re near Hongdae or Yeonnam-dong—especially after a light walk along Gyeongui Line Forest Park—and looking for a reliably great pizza restaurant, I recommend stopping by Sunny's Pizza Market without hesitation. I really hope you get to experience the pizza’s generous cheese flavor on that thin crust at least once!
