Introducing a restaurant you should visit when you're craving wood-fired pizza — The European Gwanggyo!! I found this place while out driving around Gwanggyo, and pizza baked by a chef with 10 years of experience from the Shilla Hotel Seoul?? I had to try it right away haha.

It's a super famous Gwanggyo restaurant, and it turns out the original location is in Haenggung-dong!! I think I'd seen it while wandering around Haenggung-dong, but this was my first visit to the Gwanggyo branch haha.

The interior is Europe itself, so it felt like I'd traveled to Europe — let the wood-fired pizza review begin!!

Here's what the exterior looks like. There's space for about 4-5 cars right in front of the store, and you can also park directly across the street.

The menu is mostly wood-fired pizza and pasta! I ordered their signature dishes — the signature basil burrata cheese pizza and the sausage oil casarecce (fresh pasta)!

There's a sign at the entrance with parking and seating info. You should head up to the 2nd floor first!

## The 1st and 2nd floor atmosphere

The photo on the left is the 1st floor interior, and once you go up the stairs you'll find the counter and the 2nd floor space. The gaps between tables are wide too, so it's nice for conversation.

The interior is very European-style. European restaurants are often decorated in this kind of warm tone, and The European Gwanggyo has that same warm feel from the moment you walk in!!

I booked through Catch Table and sat at a window seat!! There's a tree visible right next to it too, so pretty.

We ordered a cola and pickled radish first! The radish came in small, one-bite pieces, which I liked.

## Sausage oil casarecce (fresh pasta)

I thought it was regular dried pasta when I ordered, but it turned out to be fresh, hand-made pasta!! It's an oil base with a generous amount of jalapeño, so there's a spicy kick.

There's also plenty of onion and olives inside!! It had this spicy yet oily savoriness — a totally new flavor I'd never had in a pasta before!!

Eating the jambon on top together with the noodles was delicious. The saltiness of the jambon goes really well with the spicy oil sauce. Adding the olives makes it even better haha. I tore the jambon apart and ate it with the noodles!!

And the wood-fired pizza I was most looking forward to!! Doesn't it sound even more trustworthy knowing the chef is from the Shilla Hotel?? Haha. It's topped with fresh burrata cheese and basil leaves.

It's cut into four pieces and the dough is so, so fluffy. Hurry up and get in my mouth, please ㅠㅠㅠ

They transfer it to a pretty plate before you eat it!! Tomato + basil is such a perfectly matched combo, and adding burrata on top made it a three-way match made in heaven. I devoured it in awe. The basil pesto was drizzled just right over the cheese too, making everything work even better. Honestly, one whole pizza per person seems doable??

Since the dough is wood-fired pizza dough, there's nothing to waste even at the crust — dip it in the basil sauce and it's so, so good!!! The dough is fluffy and light, the best kind of flavor.

## How was it as a Gwanggyo blind date or date spot?

We wiped both plates completely clean... Next time I think I could order two pizzas so each of us gets our own. There are still so many pizzas I haven't tried at The European Gwanggyo that I'm so curious about!!! It seemed like a great spot for a Gwanggyo blind date too. The atmosphere is so pretty haha. Highly recommend it as a Gwanggyo date restaurant!!
