## In short

Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch is a ramen restaurant in the 7th-floor food court of Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul, with bar-table seats that suit solo diners. The writer ordered the spicy jambon ramen set for 15,900 won, swapped its small side for karaage, and added a large bassak gyoza (crispy pan-fried dumplings) for 8,900 won. I was heading to Yongsan Station alone to watch a movie and looking for somewhere good to eat solo, so I stopped by Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch. It's a well-known Yongsan Station spot, and the main menu is ramen haha.

## Inside Menya Seoul: bar-table seats in the food court

Since it's located in a food court, it's an open layout. There's a menu board right at the counter! You can choose a set or an à la carte item, and just tell them the number of the dish you want. Ordering was really convenient haha.

And here's a nice perk — usually you can't change the side that comes with a set, but here you can! You can swap it for "crispy gyoza / karaage / sweet soy chicken rice bowl" (small size).

Seating is at bar tables. You can sit right in front of the shop, or use the wider tables in the food court. Since it's a bar setup, it was really great for eating alone ~

There are sauces placed at each seat too. Lemon-seaweed vinegar and rayu (chili oil) are provided, with notes on which dishes go well with each.

After ordering, they give you a buzzer like this! The food came out fast, within 5–10 minutes of ordering haha.

## What I ordered: No. 9 spicy jambon set and a large bassak gyoza

![Ordered set menu and extra side laid out on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-10-1jqg9-900.webp)

I added an extra side on top of the set menu haha.

- No. 9 spicy jambon set: ₩15,900
- Bassak gyoza (large): ₩8,900

The set menu comes with "ramen + soft drink + a small side"! Since I was really hungry, I tried an extra side too haha.

![Buzzer and utensil pickup corner](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-11-2d5o9-900.webp)

When the buzzer goes off, you pick up your order, and grab utensils right beside the pickup counter.

![A bowl of ramen piled high with toppings](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-13-uaeux-900.webp)

The portion was really generous! The toppings on the ramen were colorful too, so it looked great ^_^

### How spicy is the jambon ramen, and how much jambon do you get?

![Spicy ramen topped with soft-boiled egg and jambon](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-14-1nu4r-900.webp)
*Spicy jambon ramen*

The spicy broth had half a soft-boiled egg, jambon (ham), and chopped green onion neatly packed in haha. It's spicy but not the kind that hurts your stomach, so even people who can't handle spice well should be fine.

![Rayu and vinegar sauces placed on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-15-r8x4n-900.webp)

Each table has these sauces! I wanted it a bit spicier, so I added rayu haha.

![Spicy ramen broth with added rayu](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-16-3ayld-900.webp)

![Pickled radish served with the ramen](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-17-wxm91-900.webp)

Topping it with the crunchy pickled radish that comes on the side is seriously delicious 😝

![Jambon ham slices inside the ramen](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-18-1x4ks-900.webp)

It was my first time having ramen with jambon in it, and it went together better than I expected! The ham was soft and not too salty, which I liked haha. There were 4 slices, so it felt like a pretty generous portion.

### Swapping the set's small side for karaage

![Karaage chosen as the set side dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-19-19vei-900.webp)
*Karaage as the set side*

Within the set, I chose karaage as the side. It was fried fresh, so it was super crispy, and the sauce on top had a slightly sweet touch.

![Inside of freshly fried karaage](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-20-19sbz-900.webp)

It seemed to use tender chicken. Since it's freshly fried, it's hot if you eat it right away, so let it cool a bit! Still crispy though ~

### Adding the large bassak gyoza as a separate dish

![Bassak gyoza ordered à la carte](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-21-bxwwi-900.webp)

![Plate of crispy fried gyoza dumplings](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-22-1poxo-900.webp)
*Bassak gyoza (large)*

This is the bassak gyoza I ordered à la carte instead of as part of the set! These aren't just pan-fried—they're actually deep-fried dumplings. I was really glad I added it.

They're packed full of meat ~ totally crispy outside, juicy inside! Ramen definitely pairs well with fried food. I dipped them in the broth and enjoyed every bite haha.

## Weekday happy hour: free sweet red bean spring rolls

![Sign announcing free red bean spring rolls during weekday happy hour](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-23-ieko7-900.webp)

From 2pm to 6pm on weekdays, there's a happy hour where they give out 2 free sweet red bean spring rolls~ If you're visiting on a weekday, timing it for happy hour would be great!

![Empty ramen bowl and table after finishing the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza/menya-seoul-yongsan-ipark-solo-ramen-gyoza-24-16w31-900.webp)

There are a lot of good restaurants around Yongsan Station, but I always struggled to find a place good for eating alone—from now on, I'm going to "Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall"! The menu setup is great, and the ramen isn't too salty, tuned to suit Korean tastes, so it's the kind of flavor anyone would like haha. If you're heading to the Yongsan area alone, give Menya Seoul a try!
