## In short

Saranghao Dalkomhage & Dog Daycare Cafe is a dog-friendly café in Pyeongnae-dong, Namyangju, Gyeonggi that also runs a dog play space and a dog daycare. Terry, the writer's dog, ran around the large indoor playroom and ate from a dog-only menu served in his own bowl, while the writer had a warm drink and a waffle topped with ice cream. Saranghao Dalkomhage is a good indoor option on days when the weather rules out an outdoor dog run.

I was looking for somewhere I could comfortably spend time with my dog, and ended up visiting Saranghao Dalkomhage (사랑하오 달콤하개) in Pyeongnae-dong, Namyangju. It's a place that combines a café with a dog play space, and once I got there I really liked how much room there was for the dogs to run around freely. Today I'll walk through the space, how it works, the menu, and how my visit actually went.

## Where is Saranghao Dalkomhage? Parking and hours

- 📍 165 Pyeongnae-ro, 2nd floor, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea / 791m from Exit 2 of Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Station (2nd floor, building across from Pyeongnae Sports & Culture Center)
- ⏰ Mon–Sun 12:00–21:00
- 🅿️ Parking available (nearby alternative: Pyeongnae Sports & Culture Center, across the street, 1 hour free on weekdays)

## Entry rules at this Pyeongnae-Hopyeong dog café

![Entrance to Saranghao Dalkomhage on the 2nd floor of the building](https://img.superchart.com/images/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu-02-1rymf-966.webp)

![House rules for the dog café posted at the entrance](https://img.superchart.com/images/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu-03-f7500-966.webp)

There was a spot left in the building parking lot, so I parked and headed up to the 2nd floor, where the house rules were posted in detail right at the entrance. Dogs 15kg or under can enter the café space, and the 5 legally designated dangerous breeds are restricted. It said only vaccinated dogs are allowed in, with at least 3 rounds of shots required. Since it's a shared space with multiple dogs, I actually found it reassuring that all this was spelled out so clearly.

## A wide indoor playroom where dogs can run freely

The first thing I noticed walking in was how spacious it was. Even with several dogs in there together, it didn't feel cramped at all. The flooring was also well suited for dogs to move around on, and the open layout made it easy for owners to keep an eye on their dogs from a distance.

When I visited, cute dogs were wandering around freely everywhere. They were sniffing each other in greeting, chasing toys, each doing their own thing — honestly so cute to watch.

Terry, my dog, wandered around in his little red outfit too. Since it was a new space, he seemed to be checking things out at first, but after a bit he was moving around pretty comfortably.

There were things like tear-stain wipes, puppy pads, doggie diapers, and toys stocked all over the place.

## Saranghao Dalkomhage also runs a dog daycare

![Indoor space that also functions as a dog daycare](https://img.superchart.com/images/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu-13-1n6rp-966.webp)

Saranghao Dalkomhage seemed to run a dog daycare alongside the café. That's probably why the indoor play space for dogs to run around in was so generously sized, and why the facilities and supplies for dogs were so well equipped. It's less a dog-friendly café where you simply sit with your dog beside you, and more a space where your dog can actually run around and spend real time playing.

## The café seating where owners can rest too

It wasn't just a play space for dogs — there was a proper separate café area too. Decorated mainly in white and yellow, the whole vibe was bright and cute, and with lots of full glass walls, it felt open rather than closed-in.

You order through a kiosk.

![Beer on display at the counter](https://img.superchart.com/images/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu-19-1hkdx-966.webp)

At the counter there was a good variety of coffee, drinks, and bingsu (shaved ice dessert). They even had beer on display.

They also had a proper meal menu. Shrimp fried rice, kimchi fried rice, udon tteokguk-tteokbokki, aglio e olio, udon, and more were all listed at ₩12,000, which was nice — you could grab an actual meal, not just coffee.

## Coffee and an ice-cream waffle for a short break

![Warm drink with an ice-cream-topped waffle](https://img.superchart.com/images/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu-21-lc0yz-966.webp)

![Golden-browned waffle with coffee](https://img.superchart.com/images/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu-22-gie2i-966.webp)

While our dog played, we ordered something for ourselves too. We got a warm drink along with a waffle, and it looked delicious right away — a golden, well-browned waffle with a big scoop of ice cream on top. Sweet dessert plus coffee is a combo that's hard to mess up :) Playing with the dog actually takes a surprising amount of energy for the owner too, so sitting down for a coffee and a sweet dessert in the middle of it felt like a proper break.

## What's on the dog-only menu?

![Sign for the dog-only menu including doggie cappuccino](https://img.superchart.com/images/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu-23-1ou5c-966.webp)

![Dog food served in a dog-only bowl](https://img.superchart.com/images/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu/namyangju-dog-cafe-dessert-menu-24-1pips-1200.webp)

One thing I really liked was that there was a separate menu just for dogs. The dog-only menu listed things like a doggie cappuccino and milk hwachae, and we ordered something for Terry too. It came out in a dog-only bowl, with meat and various ingredients cut up small and easy to eat. The colors looked so appetizing that I found myself taking photos of it the second it arrived.

It's not just people eating coffee and dessert while the dog watches from the side — being able to eat and play together is part of what makes a dog café fun.

## Who should visit Saranghao Dalkomhage?

Saranghao Dalkomhage would suit people who want to let their dog run around freely indoors, anyone who can't get to an outdoor dog run because of the weather, and anyone who wants to enjoy a meal or dessert together with their dog, not just coffee. With a spacious layout and both a café area and a play area well set up, the biggest advantage felt like this: the dog gets to run around having fun, while the owner gets to sit and relax with a coffee.

On a day when staying home all day with your dog feels like a shame, especially one where the weather rules out outdoor activity, this is the kind of Pyeongnae-Hopyeong dog café that'll come to mind again. Terry got to check out new friends, explore the space, and eat something delicious — a proper café outing all around.
