Hello!! :D I finally made it to Nahonsha, a Hapjeong Station favorite! I'd been craving shabu-shabu lately, and this place kept coming up as a Hapjeong must-visit, so I finally tracked it down! Just like the name suggests ("eating shabu-shabu alone"), it's a place where you can enjoy a great meal solo without any pressure — the moment I walked in, my excitement was already building! It really did have that perfect atmosphere for solo dining in Hapjeong, full of happy anticipation!

I ordered the shabu-shabu, and I was already impressed by how neatly it came out in a single-serving pot! The clean, refreshing broth paired with fresh meat lightly blanched in it just melted in my mouth — absolutely wonderful! Every bite of meat and vegetable carried deep flavor, and it made me so happy! At the next table, other diners were enjoying Hapjeong solo mala tang or a hearty sukiyaki dinner, and those looked amazing too! Next time I definitely want to try a different broth!

Fresh vegetables and mushrooms, plus chewy noodles, came out generously, and it was all so satisfying! Every single ingredient felt genuinely fresh, so I could eat with total trust. The meat especially had no gamey smell at all and was so tender, blending perfectly with the broth! The side dishes were also neat and clean, which made the main dish shine even more. Overall the ingredient quality was excellent — I felt like I was being properly taken care of!

The inside of the restaurant was cozy and tidy, so it never felt awkward to be there alone! Seating for solo diners was well thought out, letting me focus comfortably on my meal. The staff were all kind too, walking me through the menu and attentively taking care of anything I needed — it made for a genuinely pleasant meal. Thanks to service like that, it turned into an even more enjoyable evening in Hapjeong!

Nahonsha really is a place where you can properly enjoy Hapjeong Station's shabu-shabu scene! The taste, the fresh ingredients, and the friendly service — nothing was missing, it was practically perfect. I'd highly recommend it both to anyone looking for solo dining in Hapjeong and to friends wanting a great sukiyaki dinner together in Hapjeong! I'll definitely be back soon to try other menu items — this was truly a choice I don't regret!

## Where is Nahonsha and what are its hours?

Nahonsha is a shabu-shabu restaurant on the 1st floor at 42 Dokmak-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, near Hapjeong Station. It's open daily from 11:30 to 21:00 and closed on Sundays.

Even though it was already dark out, the place looked lively thanks to the green plants around it! Right at the entrance sign, I noticed a confident phrase: 'A shabu-shabu specialist's broth is different.' Reading that the broth is carefully simmered with mushrooms, minari (water dropwort), and even potato sujebi (hand-torn dough) got my expectations up! The menu board under the stairs listed clear broth, spicy broth, and even a mala shabu-shabu for solo diners in Hapjeong! There was a wide range of options for a hearty Hapjeong-style sukiyaki dinner too, so there was plenty of choice. Lush green trees wrapped around the building, giving it the feel of a cozy hideaway in the middle of the city!

Green plants scattered around gave a sense of comfort even in the middle of the city! Further inside, I spotted tables for group diners too, so the space seemed versatile. An antique grandfather clock and a display of various liquors added a distinctive touch! Being able to browse the menu and order right from the personal monitor looked super convenient!

Once I sat down, everything was perfectly set up on the clean wooden table! A small induction burner, pot, and tableware were all neatly arranged, making me feel well taken care of. Outside the window, green trees filled the view, letting me feel nature even in the middle of the city while I ate. On the personal monitor, a fresh leaf design glowed alongside the Nahonsha logo, almost like a welcome. Various sauces sat in clean containers arranged on a tray beside the table, which looked very convenient! It was the perfect private spot to enjoy solo shabu-shabu in Hapjeong! The unique texture of the inner wall and the antique grandfather clock added a distinctive mood. Overall, the warm, cozy lighting made me look forward to a relaxing dinner!

## What comes with the spicy shabu-shabu at Nahonsha

I ordered the spicy shabu-shabu. It came with an assorted vegetable plate, two plates of meat, and noodles.

After sitting down and waiting a bit, the main ingredients started arriving one by one! The fresh assorted vegetables showed off their colors beautifully! There was firm sweet pumpkin, mushrooms, fresh napa cabbage, and bok choy, all prepared in variety! And then the meat I'd been waiting for arrived — two plates full, and the portion was really generous! Even at a glance, you could tell the meat was fresh and good quality, thinly sliced and easy to eat! Next to it sat chewy noodles too, so it seemed like I'd be well fed all the way to the end! Soon after, the pot was filled with a refreshing red broth! I was already curious what flavor this broth would bring out! Thanks to such a solid spread, solo shabu-shabu in Hapjeong felt even more special!

## Simmering the spicy broth with tofu, potato and dumplings

![Solo pot with vegetables added to the red spicy broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/nahonsha-hapjeong-spicy-shabu-evening/nahonsha-hapjeong-spicy-shabu-evening-10-rvcxs-1200.webp)

![Plate of extra ingredients: fried tofu, potato, and dumplings](https://img.superchart.com/images/nahonsha-hapjeong-spicy-shabu-evening/nahonsha-hapjeong-spicy-shabu-evening-11-14kxw-966.webp)

Now it was really time to dig in! I put the fresh vegetables into the pot of red broth first! Even the bubbling sound as it started to simmer was mouthwatering! And on the table sat extra special ingredients I could add in! Lightly fried tofu, chewy potato, and plump dumplings — plenty of them! These were the elements that made the shabu-shabu even more varied and fun. I was already feeling satisfied just thinking about adding these into the warm broth! Cooking the vegetables and other ingredients before the meat let the broth flavor deepen first! Thanks to how thoughtfully everything was arranged, this moment made the Hapjeong shabu-shabu even more exciting!

### Adding a noodle serving to the pot

With the fresh ingredients in and the induction turned on, the red broth slowly began to bubble! As the vegetables in the pot met the hot broth, a delicious aroma started drifting up! The sound of the broth bubbling away was so pleasant to listen to! As it simmered, the broth deepened in color and looked more and more appetizing! Now it was time to generously add in the rest of the ingredients to the now-warmed broth! Tofu and mushrooms melted into the broth, promising even deeper flavor! Beside it sat the thinly sliced fresh meat, tempting me! The moment to finally taste the real essence of this Hapjeong Station shabu-shabu had arrived! I was already excited to enjoy everything together and couldn't wait to add the meat!

## Peanut and chili sauces at Nahonsha

Now it was time to enjoy the shabu-shabu with even more flavor! On the table, an array of sauces gleamed in clean little bowls! The nutty peanut sauce added a smooth richness! The spicy chili sauce seemed like it would add a sharp kick and boost the appetite! Dipping the fresh vegetables and juicy meat generously into these seemed like it would be a perfect match! With all these flavors, the Hapjeong shabu-shabu felt even richer. Each sauce seemed made with care! It was the kind of moment that made me wonder which flavor to try first!

Finally, I dipped the meat I'd been waiting for briefly into the bubbling broth to cook! The thinly sliced meat cooked up soft almost as soon as it hit the hot broth! The fresh vegetables, tofu, and mushrooms had also soaked up plenty of broth flavor! Picking things up with my chopsticks and tasting, the combination of meat and vegetables was really great! The broth was spicy yet deep, so it was plenty delicious even without sauce! Honestly, this would hold up just fine as a solo mala tang in Hapjeong too! I had a hearty, satisfying dinner thanks to this Hapjeong Station shabu-shabu favorite! It's an excellent spot to fully enjoy your own time alone! I want to come back again — it was truly the best!
