I was trying to figure out what to eat for dinner in Ingye-dong and ended up craving a hot bowl of pork bone soup for the first time in a while. This time I went to Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch. The name itself basically screams "spicy," but when I actually tried it, the broth was cleaner than expected, and most importantly, the bones had a ton of meat on them. Also, something I personally really liked — even though it's an Ingye-dong restaurant, the space was spacious and clean!

It's literally hell, especially if you're a beginner driver like me ㅜㅜㅜ If you drive to Ingye-dong in the evening, parking is stressful from the start, so having a building basement lot is a huge plus. Thanks to the roomy underground lot, I could really relax and enjoy the meal.

I visited on a weekend afternoon. What struck me the moment I walked in was how much more spacious and clean the place was than I expected. You can choose between mild and regular for the pork bone soup, and there are separate spicy levels too, so you can pick according to your taste. I usually go for the really spicy version, but today I wanted something clean, so I went with regular!

Even the regular flavor was pretty spicy-tangy haha. Not quite an "ow, so hot!" level, but the clear, clean broth had a nice sharp kick to it, and mixed with rice it was really delicious. Next time I plan to try the actual spicy version. My daughter said the mild version was just the right spice level for her. The place is literally named "spicy pork bone soup," so now I'm curious just how spicy the spicy one actually is haha.

And here's the part I liked best about Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch: the amount of meat. Each bowl had at least five bone pieces, and the meat clinging to those bones was seriously substantial.

Picking the bones apart one by one, I was full just from the meat alone. These days, when you go for pork bone soup, sometimes there are tons of bones but barely any meat on them.

I'm more of a meat-and-broth kind of eater so it was fine for me, but if you're the "pork bone soup means ugeoji!" type, you might be a little disappointed.

Walking out with an ice cream bar each after the meal made my kid happy, and honestly it put me in a good mood too.
