Stepping inside, I noticed near the counter that this restaurant had been featured on TV before. It's open every day except for Lunar New Year and Chuseok.

The interior is very spacious. I couldn't photograph it properly since other diners were there, but the hall is really large.

## Hantiok menu and what we paid

I checked the menu — from Andong gukси noodles to Andong gukbap, yangji gomtang, gondeure bibimbap, mandu soup, bossam, king mandu, and dongtae jeon, the menu is packed with a wide variety of Korean dishes.

After much deliberation, I ordered kongguksu, king mandu, and mung bean pancake. Kongguksu ₩15,000, king mandu ₩13,000, mung bean pancake (1 piece) ₩11,000.

The side dishes served were chive kimchi, perilla leaves, and fresh kimchi — nice pairings for the meal.

## How was the kongguksu at Hantiok?

The food came out quickly. I love kongguksu. The older I get, the more I gravitate toward soybean-based dishes, so I was curious how this Korean restaurant's kongguksu, made with domestic soybeans, would taste.

It exceeded my expectations in real life. I'd never had such a thick, rich kongguksu before. The egg, cucumber, and tomato made for nice color contrast.

Even better was the noodle. Not too thick, easy to eat, and the chewy texture was outstanding — soft yet chewy, a rare kind of noodle.
