## In short

T Coffee is a quiet basement coffee shop on Achasan-ro in Seongdong, Seoul, within a 10-minute walk of Seongsu Station Exit 2. On a weekend visit, two cups of Ethiopia Guji Gugugu natural hand-drip (8,000 won each) were ordered in a calm room where most people were working on laptops. T Coffee is worth remembering when you want to escape the Seongsu crowds to work or talk quietly.

These days, wherever you go in Seongsu, it's packed with people. I just wanted to sit at a café for a bit and chat, but the famous spots were either full or way too loud.

So this time I deliberately went looking for a quiet café in Seongsu and came across T Coffee. Once I visited, I found plenty of people working on laptops, and it was relatively calm even on a weekend — a place I'd recommend to anyone looking for a café to work in around Seongsu.

## Where is T Coffee? A 10-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 2

T Coffee was comfortably reachable, a slow 10-minute walk or less from Seongsu Station Exit 2. It sits roughly between Seongsu Station and Konkuk University Station, so it wasn't a burden to stop by while exploring the Seongsu area.

On your first visit, since it's in the basement, you might wonder if there's really a café down there. If it's hard to find, look for the nearby pizza spot Pizza Slice — it's right across from it.

Once you find the entrance and head down, you arrive in a space that feels a bit different from the busy Seongsu atmosphere outside.

## Is T Coffee quiet on weekends? Inside the basement café

I visited on a weekend, and the streets of Seongsu were absolutely packed. But once I stepped inside T Coffee, it was noticeably quieter by comparison. This place definitely has far fewer people!

Above all, I saw quite a few people at their seats with laptops open, working. That's not to say conversation is forbidden — people who came to chat seemed to keep their voices relatively low too.

I liked this atmosphere a lot. It seemed better suited to people who want to sip coffee while reading a book or working on a laptop, rather than the typical bustling vibe of a Seongsu café.

Finding a quiet café in Seongsu is harder than you'd think, so this is a good one to remember when you need a place to work.

## T Coffee menu and prices: americano 5,500 won, hand-drip 8,000 won

The coffee menu was fairly varied too. Americano is ₩5,500, cold brew is ₩5,800, and latte, cappuccino, and flat white are each ₩6,200.

Since they had hand-drip coffee, I didn't even hesitate to order it. Hand-drip is ₩8,000 a cup, and that day I chose the Ethiopia Guji Gugugu natural beans and ordered two cups.

It's not just coffee — there are desserts to go with it too. Sand cookies are ₩4,200, and carrot cake and cheesecake are ₩7,500, so it looked like a nice place to pair coffee with a simple dessert. I'd eaten a big meal beforehand so I skipped it that day, but I thought about it later and felt a bit sorry I missed it, haha.

## How the Ethiopia Guji Gugugu hand-drip tasted

The hand-drip coffee felt clean from the very first sip. I liked the smooth finish typical of hand-drip, and it went well with sipping slowly while chatting.

But as much as the coffee itself, I liked the space. Being able to sit calmly and pass the time without hunting for a seat, cup in hand, in crowded Seongsu was a real plus.

## T Coffee hours, last order and who this Seongsu café suits

As of my visit, T Coffee's hours were weekdays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Last order for coffee is 7 p.m., so if you're visiting later in the day, it's worth checking the time beforehand.

It seems especially well suited to people who bring a laptop to focus on work, want to read alone, or are looking for a quiet spot to talk with a friend.

Next time I need to work quietly on my laptop in Seongsu, I'd go back. If you've been looking for a quiet café in Seongsu rather than a flashy hotspot, T Coffee is worth a try.
