## In short

Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch is a kodari (half-dried pollock) restaurant in Seohae, Incheon, about 450 meters on foot from Exit 6 of Gajeong Station. Visiting with two parents, the writer ordered the basic spicy braised pollock for three plus cauldron rice, and staff removed the large bones at the table so everyone could eat the flesh without touching it. With roomy window seats and a self-serve bar stocked with gim (seaweed) and bean sprouts, Hangsangcharim works well for a family lunch out.

Walking about 450 meters from Exit 6 of Gajeong Station, it was really easy to find and I got there in no time! There's also plenty of parking in the building, so it's great if you're coming by car. The storefront greets you looking clean right from the start, and there's even an instant ppeongtwigi (puffed rice snack) machine out front for a light dessert after the meal — I was already excited!

The entrance had this bright, cheerful vibe that I loved right away, and inside they had takeout meal kits ready to go too! I thought that if I ever crave this flavor again at home, it'd be perfect to just grab one to take out. The first impression was clean and tidy, so I sat down feeling great right after walking in!

## Inside Hangsangcharim: window seats and the menu

Being a newly opened spot, it was super clean and pleasant overall, so I felt great the whole time I was there. From the tables to the floor, everything was spotless and tidy, so I could really tell they cared about hygiene. I visited with my parents, and I think they liked how neat the space was too!

Sunlight streamed in on one side of the restaurant, creating a warm, cozy atmosphere! There were especially plenty of seats arranged by the window, so I could eat comfortably with an open view. There's no better spot for a relaxed lunch in the sunshine~

Being a kodari specialty place, they had a nice variety of kodari dishes to choose from depending on your taste! Since I was visiting with my parents, after some thought we went with the most basic option — the basic spicy pollock stew for 3! They kindly told us that even the basic spice level is pretty fiery, about as hot as Shin Ramyeon, which was exactly right for us!

![Banchan (side dishes) at the self-serve corner](https://img.superchart.com/images/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three-12-otcsv-966.webp)

After ordering I checked out the self-serve corner too, and it was great that we could freely grab gim (seaweed) and bean sprouts — the ones we'd eat most with the kodari stew — plus other banchan (side dishes) haha.

## Spicy braised pollock for three, deboned at your table

![Full spread of basic spicy pollock stew for 3](https://img.superchart.com/images/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three-16-ejwrp-966.webp)

![Mild, non-spicy banchan lineup](https://img.superchart.com/images/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three-18-9g48d-966.webp)

The spicy kodari stew we ordered arrived with a full, hearty spread of neat side dishes! Since the main dish had a spicy, sharp sauce, the sides were mostly mild and not overly strong, which paired well with it. They were clean, appealing banchan I kept reaching for!

What I liked most was that the staff came right to the table and deboned the big bones for us, making everything easy to eat! They did it quickly and skillfully, so we didn't have to touch anything ourselves — it was so convenient. Thanks to that, we could stop fussing and focus fully on the meal!

Once the deboning was done, what was left was just plump, tender flesh that was easy to pick up with chopsticks! The sauce had soaked in deep, so every bite drew an admiring gasp out of me. My parents, who are pollock stew connoisseurs, ate it happily too, saying it was soft with no fishy smell at all — it felt worth the trip!

### How to wrap rice, kodari and bean sprouts in gim

Following the recommended way to eat it, I put white rice on a sheet of dried gim (seaweed), piled on plenty of spicy kodari and bean sprouts, and ate it all together — mmm! The crunchy texture of the bean sprouts and the spicy sauce blended with the savory gim for a fantastic combination in every bite. This is it!!! I found myself nodding along — best combo ever!

![A bite of kodari paired with salad and namul](https://img.superchart.com/images/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three-22-1bcqv-966.webp)

Since it was quite spicy, eating it with salad or other namul (seasoned vegetable) side dishes on top helped balance the heat and added more layers of flavor! Fresh salad or namul in between bites really helped cool my palate. The self-serve bar was neatly stocked too, so I could grab as much as I wanted without running short~

## Finishing the meal with cauldron rice and nurungji

![Separately ordered stone-pot rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three/incheon-gajeong-kodari-spicy-pollack-three-23-bwfhh-966.webp)

The stone-pot rice was cheap too, so we ordered one, and even the scorched rice at the bottom simmered up nicely — it was delicious right to the last bite... You could tell they used good rice, which made it even tastier! After scooping out the rice, we poured water into the pot and enjoyed the nutty scorched rice broth too, ending the meal feeling completely satisfied! If you're looking for a good lunch spot in Gajeong-dong for a family meal with your parents, I highly recommend Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch!
