I was looking for somewhere to grab dinner with a friend near Sinnonhyeon Station and found Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch!

It was close to Sinnonhyeon Station and had good reviews, so we checked it out — and to cut to the chase, both the taste and the price were satisfying. Best of all, it's a great Gangnam Station meetup spot right in the middle of Gangnam that even has parking, so it's somewhere I'd want to come back to with friends.

## Location and parking at Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch

Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is on the 2nd floor of Gangnam Diobil, 54 Seochodae-ro 73-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It's within walking distance from Sinnonhyeon Station exit 9, making it easy to reach by subway, and it's also close enough to walk from Gangnam Station.

It's open daily from 11am to 10pm — good for anything from lunch to dinner meetups to company dinners!

If you're driving, you can use the building's basement parking lot, and if you mention you parked when paying after your meal, you get 1 hour free. After that it's ₩1,000 per 10 minutes. Finding a restaurant with parking in Gangnam isn't easy, so this is a real plus!

## What the atmosphere was like

The interior had an overall dim tone, which felt cozy. The tables weren't super spacious, but sitting across from my friend actually made it easier to talk since we were closer together. Compared to loud, eat-and-run type places, sound carried well here, so it worked nicely as a Sinnonhyeon meetup spot where you can chat while eating.

We got there before the real dinner rush, but as we ate, the place filled up quickly. Oh... I guess there's a reason it has such good reviews.

## Menu and prices

The main dakgalbi (stir-fried spicy chicken) options were largely jjolim dakgalbi and cheese dakgalbi. Jjolim dakgalbi is ₩12,000 per person and cheese dakgalbi is ₩14,000 per person, with the menu noting a whopping 250g of chicken and 130g of vegetables per serving. Big portion of meat, and no noodle add-on included by default!

There were also set menus: gamssadak, which comes with potato pancake and dakgalbi together, and gamssachidak, paired with cheese dakgalbi. Gamssadak for 2 is ₩36,000, and the gamssachidak for 2 that we ordered is ₩40,000.

Sides included perilla-leaf potato pancake, squid-kimchi pancake, squid-chive-scallion pancake, fish cake soup, flying fish roe steamed egg, and bibim makguksu (mixed cold noodles). Drinks ranged from soju and beer to icy nurungji (scorched rice) makgeolli. We figured the set alone would be enough, so we didn't order any sides separately.

Being able to get potato pancake and cheese dakgalbi together for ₩40,000 for two, right in the middle of Gangnam, felt more reasonable than expected. Whoa... and parking is included on top of that.

My friend and I are both watching what we eat and aren't big noodle people, so we skipped adding noodles, but I bet adding some into the dakgalbi sauce would taste great too.

## The gamssachidak set for two comes already cooked

The gamssachidak set for two. What I liked right away was that the dakgalbi arrives already fully cooked! No need to stir-fry and wait ages at the table, and it wasn't hot from the burner either. All we had to do was dig in — actually a nice touch.

The cheese dakgalbi came piled high with cheese on top. Spicy, rich dakgalbi sauce plus soft, savory cheese — hard for this combo to taste bad.

### The potato pancake and cheese dakgalbi combo

Then came the potato pancake. It looked perfectly golden-brown from the start. The outside was crisped up nicely and just salty enough with a savory flavor, so it was hard to stop reaching for it even on its own.

But the real winner here was the potato pancake plus cheese dakgalbi combo. Eating the savory, salty potato pancake together with the spicy cheese dakgalbi, the two dishes went together so well. Once I tried it, I understood why they bundle it as a set. Glad I went with the gamssachidak~

## A dakgalbi restaurant good for gatherings in Gangnam

The staff and owner were really friendly, and Wi-Fi was available too. If you run low on side dishes, you can just help yourself more at the self-serve corner.

Above all, I liked that it's in a spot with easy access between Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam Station, has parking available, and doesn't feel expensive. We got to eat plenty of tasty dakgalbi and potato pancake without having to cook anything ourselves at the table, which made it easy to just relax and chat with a friend over the meal.

If you're looking for a Gangnam Station or Sinnonhyeon meetup spot, Dakgalbijeon is a pretty solid choice. Good value, good taste, and friendly staff. Next time I'd like to come with a bigger group and try other jeon and makgeolli too. Would definitely go back!
