Was hunting for good Songdo, Incheon restaurants when I heard Onesta Mall had a sushi place that really knows what it's doing, so off I went to Sushi Doku.

## How long is the 5pm weekday wait at Sushi Doku The Songdo?

Sushi Doku sits on the 2nd floor of Onesta, connected to Songhyeona, and it's popular enough that there's usually a wait even on weekdays. I timed my arrival exactly for 5pm, right when break time ends, and the waiting seats were already full of people... Luckily we all got seated together right away ^^ It's best to book ahead, but if you forget, I'd recommend showing up right at 5pm!!

Here's the inside of Sushi Doku, this Songdo, Incheon restaurant! It felt really upscale — dim lighting, quiet enough atmosphere. There's group seating too, but even at regular tables there are curtains at every seat, so it felt private.

## What comes in the 25,900-won premium sushi set

Here's the menu — the premium sushi set seems to be the bestseller at ₩25,900 per person. We got two premium sushi sets plus one soju.

Honestly, ₩25,900 per person didn't sound cheap to me at first, but seeing the portion completely changed my mind — oh, this spread is such good value.

And now, vertically. This is the reason I said you absolutely must order soju here. Even if you order regular soju, it gets upgraded for free to plum soju. True to its status as a top Songdo, Incheon restaurant, Sushi Doku The Songdo even has a station on the way in where they pour you plum tea?? (So you can sip it while waiting for your order... so thoughtful..♡)

But sipping this warm plum tea while waiting, by the time the soju arrives it's cooled to just the right temperature for mixing into the soju.

## How the 10 sushi pieces, steamed egg and udon tasted

Now for the main event — the sushi menu itself. Look how glossy it is, right??

The staff explained that it tastes best if you brush on the soy sauce with that silicone-brush-like tool (wow..☆). The rice seasoning isn't too strong. Personally I have kid-like tastes and prefer it a bit sweeter, but my mom, who really enjoyed it, said it was so, so delicious!

And then the delicate chawanmushi (steamed egg). What's that egg-like thing on top..? Anyway, borrowing my mom's words, it tasted like a lot of care went into it. There's even shrimp inside, and it seemed to have a hint of sesame oil aroma — definitely not just plain beaten egg, it felt like being treated well. The udon was warm and nice too. Normally you only get one fish-shaped cake, but my mom said it looked lonely and let me have it just for the photo.

But is it just me who feels a little bad about grinding fish to make a fish shape..?ㅋㅋ (ate it happily though♡)

Personally I don't like shrimp tempura that fakes you out with mostly batter, but this one was packed solid inside, which felt honest and likeable.

I don't usually bother photographing greens, but a staff member came by so kindly during the meal to ask, 'Is there anything else you need? More salad, maybe...' that I was touched enough to snap a photo. It was fresh and good.

This salmon — whoever's in charge really knows what they're doing. Other sushi can be whatever, but salmon has to be big, right. Honestly the other sushi pieces were great too, but the salmon size stood out especially. It was so long it was resting on top of the other sushi, and I nearly knocked it over reaching for it hahaha.

## Is Sushi Doku The Songdo worth it? Final verdict

Sushi Doku, a Songdo, Incheon restaurant! The portions were so generous we couldn't finish everything, but between the not-too-strong sushi seasoning, the varied menu, the upscale interior atmosphere, and the kind staff, I left full and satisfied after a great meal💗 Above all, that plum soju... paired so perfectly with the sushi that I'll definitely be back again, even paying with my own money.
