At Pyeonbaek Hoegwan, you start by eating the cypress steam. When it's ready, a staff member comes and opens the lid for you! The meat looked tender and delicious. There's a bit of bok choy, napa cabbage, sweet pumpkin, enoki mushrooms, and shrimp mixed in too. It's tasty even without wrapping it in rice paper, just dipped in wasabi soy sauce. Once you finish this, it's time for shabu-shabu!!! Once you finish it, it's time for shabu-shabu — I grabbed meat and vegetables from the salad bar, just enough. Since I was already pretty full from the cypress steam and rice-paper rolls, I couldn't eat much more, ugh. I love bean sprouts so I added lots of those along with fried tofu haha. I wanted to finish with kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and porridge too, but I was too full... so I just stuck to meat, ugh. The plain broth was tastier than the spicy one. Next time I'll have to try the noodles and porridge too!! If you're looking for a good shabu-shabu restaurant in Jungsan-dong, give Pyeonbaek Hoegwan a try.
