When I want to see the sea without traveling far from Incheon, Seonjae-do is what comes to mind. This time I stayed at Luna Beach Seonjae Hotel for a day of proper rest — barbecue and a spa tub included.

When choosing a place to stay, I care most about the room's condition, how clean the bathroom is, and how comfortable it is to just spend time inside. This place had a spa tub in the room plus an outdoor barbecue area and pool, so it was easy to stay put and enjoy it. With the sea and greenery spread out beyond the window, it really felt like a proper escape from the city.

## Arriving on Seonjae-do: first impressions and parking at Luna Beach Seonjae

Arriving at the building, it was bigger than I expected. There was parking space too, so moving luggage in was easy. Going in through the front door and down the stairs leads to the lobby.

A Seonjae-do trip built around hopping between sights is nice, but this time I wanted to prioritize relaxing at the stay itself — resting in the room, grilling barbecue, soaking in the spa tub. That laid-back itinerary matched this place well.

According to the posted notice, barbecue hours ran 17:00–22:00, split into a first and second seating. We mentioned our preferred time at check-in and headed to the room — we'd booked the 6pm slot.

The shop stocked disposable plates, chopsticks, paper cups, tongs, scissors, pots and pans — basically all the barbecue essentials — which was handy to know ahead of time.

The first thing I noticed opening the door was how spacious it felt. There was plenty of room around the bed, and a long vanity with a mirror on one side made it easy to set down bags or get ready to go out. The big window had curtains, and there was a wall-mounted TV too.

It wasn't a flashy, newly-built kind of room so much as a practical one that was comfortable to rest in. The bedding was tidy and clean, which gave a good first impression.

I checked the bathroom too — the sink, toilet and shower were separated, all in a bright white tone that felt clean. The shower area had decent space, so it wasn't cramped to use.

### The round spa tub by the window and the kitchen

The kitchen tools were neatly arranged, and there was even a food waste bin, which I appreciated. Right by the window sat a big round spa tub with a bold color that caught my eye the moment I walked in. What I liked most was that the spa sat right next to a large window!

During the day, sunlight poured in and the view of trees and sea stretched out beyond the window, so there was no cramped feeling at all. Traveling around is nice, but soaking in warm water at the stay while looking out through that full window would have been so relaxing. Sadly I wasn't feeling well enough to actually use the spa this time — next visit, I'm definitely doing it.

Whether it's a couple's trip or friends wanting a relaxed day on Seonjae-do, booking a spa room would make the time spent at the stay feel a bit more special.

Since we were staying over, barbecue was a must. We brought meat, sides and other food and enjoyed it there. The outdoor deck had a table and barbecue setup, so we could grill right at the pension without heading elsewhere.

Putting meat over the charcoal really made it feel like a trip. Meat grilled outdoors just tastes different from meat cooked at home.

The barbecue area instructions were pretty detailed. The shop was unstaffed, so you just take what you want and pay by bank transfer, which was convenient. You wash your own dishes afterward and sort your trash. Reading the posted instructions before starting makes everything much easier.

## Pool, seminar room and other facilities

Looking down from the room, the outdoor pool and deck area came into full view. With trees all around and the sea visible in the distance, it captured the quiet mood particular to Seonjae-do.

The seminar room had a variety of things to enjoy. Signs around the property marked recycling stations and how to use the facilities, so it was easy to figure things out even on a first visit.

### Can you bring a dog to Luna Beach Seonjae?

This is a dog-friendly pension with a big yard where dogs can run around freely, so it's great to bring a dog along. There were other guests with dogs the day we visited too. Dogs can swim and run around, and there's even a dog dry box available. Watching the night view is a nice way to unwind too.

## Who Luna Beach Seonjae suits best

After a day on Seonjae-do, I felt this place suits travelers who'd rather grill barbecue and soak in a spa than pack a tight sightseeing schedule. Daytime is good for enjoying the sunlit view through the window, and evening is good for unwinding from travel fatigue at a relaxed pace.

The room was spacious, the bathroom clean, and there were several on-site facilities to use — barbecue area, pool, shop. Since it's a dog-friendly pension, it's also great for playing around with your dog.

These days, traveling can sometimes mean coming home more tired from running around everywhere. This time, I enjoyed just staying at the pension as if that itself were the trip.
