## In short

AutoGrooming Clean View is a car glass oil-film remover used at a local self-service car wash in Korea. It was easy to squeeze out and apply with the included large cloth, but a hazy look remained across the glass after the wipers passed. Verdict: easy to use, but it did not completely resolve the visibility issue.

## What was inconvenient before removing the oil film?

On a rainy spring day, a hazy film remained around the middle of the glass even when I ran the wipers. It did not show up well in photos, so I took close-up shots. It made visibility inconvenient, so I decided to remove the oil film before the summer monsoon season began.

*This was the condition of the car that needed oil-film removal.*

## What product and tools did I use?

I did not want to spend a lot on car care, so I did the job myself rather than taking it to a shop. This time, I used the AutoGrooming Clean View oil-film remover that I received. The mint color caught my eye first.

I checked the directions on the back of the product and also looked up a how-to video on the brand's YouTube channel. After reviewing the process of applying it to the glass and wiping it off with the cloth, I got started.

The set was simple: the mint-colored product and a cloth in the same color. I thought it would be nice to add a water-repellent coating too, but I skipped it this time because it felt like too much hassle.

## Was applying and wiping it off easy?

I went to my local self-service car wash for the first time in a while. The car looked cleaner in the photos than it really was, but it definitely needed both an oil-film removal treatment and a wash.

When I held the bottle upside down and gave it a light squeeze, the solution came out easily. I did not need to squeeze hard, and I left the cap open while working before closing it when I was done.

When I first wiped with the cloth, it felt as though the solution came off too quickly, so I reapplied it as I worked. I cleaned not only the windshield but also the side windows, side mirrors, and rear window. There was quite a bit of oil film on the rear window too, so I worked on that as well.

Another DIY oil-film remover I used before came in a stiff bottle that was uncomfortable to squeeze, and its applicator was hard too, which made the job difficult. This time, it was convenient that I could spread the product broadly with the large cloth.

## Did the hazy look disappear completely afterward?

Since I was already at the self-service car wash, I also sprayed on foam and washed the car. At the end, I rinsed it with water, and the water ran off the glass well.

After finally washing the car again, the exterior was clean. The inside, though, was still dirty.

I washed the cloth in the hand-wash area at the car wash and dried it right away. The oil-film removal job itself was not difficult.

Afterward, the film that had been concentrated in the middle did not appear anymore. But when the wipers passed, a hazy look remained across the entire glass. I felt there was also a problem with the wipers, so I thought I should replace them. Applying and wiping off the product was easy, but this job alone did not completely solve the visibility issue.
