Byway Bakers Cheongsa Main Branch is a bakery café right in front of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government North Office in Uijeongbu. I love bread so much that I always seek out places known for good desserts, and this visit to Byway (BYWAY BAKERS) was genuinely satisfying in both taste and looks.

## Where is Byway Bakers in Uijeongbu, and how do you get there?

Byway is on the 2nd floor of a shopping complex across from Uijeongbu North Office. The orange accent signage stands out even from a distance, so it was really easy to find even on my first visit. There are a lot of government offices and apartment complexes nearby, so accessibility is great. It's already become a well-known dessert spot among locals and office workers alike.

## Inside Byway Bakers: the space and the drink lineup

Walking inside, a cozy, warm wood-tone interior welcomed me. At the counter, there was a great lineup of drinks to pair with dessert — coffee, ade, and various teas.

And now, the main event — the dessert display! The moment I stepped in, a pleasant, buttery smell filled the air, and seeing all the delicious-looking bread packed into the case made my mouth water without meaning to. There was such a wide variety that browsing was half the fun.

This place is also quite famous for its financiers. As shown in the photo, they're neatly sold in elegant orange boxes of 5 or 10, which seemed perfect for gifting to friends or as a thank-you present. The baked color is so pretty that any bread lover just can't walk past it.

Next to it, the Portuguese-style golden egg tarts caught my eye with their gorgeous glow. The quality was next level — you could even see the crisp pastry layers from just looking at them.

Inside the refrigerated showcase, cream salt breads topped generously with fresh ingredients sat chilled and beautifully displayed. I decided to pick out and pack up some of the store's best menu items for today.

## Four Byway Bakers desserts eaten with family at home

The items I chose from Byway Bakers were fig pistachio salt bread, wakppu salt bread (fresh peach yogurt), salty financier, and egg tart — four in total. They were all packed carefully and neatly, and I headed home with a full bag. The sweet bread smell leaking through the shopping bag on the way home made it hard to resist eating one on the spot, but I held out. As soon as I got home, I got ready for a proper dessert time with mom and my sister.

The first thing I tried was the fig pistachio salt bread. On top of the salty, chewy salt bread base sits a generous layer of rich, savory pistachio cream and big, fresh whole figs. The combination of the sweet, poppy figs and the deep, rich cream was pure art. It instantly made sense why this place has earned the title of Uijeongbu's best salt bread spot.

### Wakppu salt bread with fresh peach yogurt

Next was the wakppu salt bread (fresh peach yogurt), which caught my eye packaged cutely in a real fruit net. Taking a bite, the tangy, sweet yogurt cream was generously packed with real peach flesh! The fresh fruit gave a wonderfully juicy texture, and the combination of the salty salt bread base with the sweet fruit was clean and excellent, with no heaviness at all.

### Salty financier and egg tart

Last up were the baked goods — the salty financier and egg tart. Slicing the egg tart in half revealed the egg tart's filling packed full with soft, fluffy vanilla bean custard. The outside had a satisfying, flaky crumble, while the inside melted away like pudding, pairing perfectly with hot coffee. The salty financier was also textbook crispy-outside, chewy-inside, with a rich buttery flavor and a savory salty finish that got stronger with every bite.

We shared everything as a family, and even my mom and sister, who are usually picky about dessert, couldn't stop praising it — which made carrying it all the way home totally worth it. You could taste the care and quality ingredients in every single bite.

If you're looking for a dessert café near Uijeongbu North Office with a great atmosphere and real attention to detail, I'd recommend Byway Bakers without hesitation. Be sure to stop by when you need a sweet sugar refill!
