## Where to rest after walking Gyeonggijeon and Jeonju Hanok Village

Anma Jogyok Cafe Manjok is a foot bath and massage café on Eunhaeng-ro in Jeonju Hanok Village. I went to check out Gyeonggijeon and wander the alleys of the hanok village, and ended up walking way more than I expected. On top of that, even though it was mid-September, the weather was pretty hot, so my legs started aching and I got tired.

I thought about just ducking into a café for a coffee, but instead I found a place you don't easily see back home in Daejeon, so I stopped by Anma Jogyok Cafe Manjok for a quick rest.

## What's in the basic course: 30-minute foot bath, shoulder massage and a drink

The basic course we used was a 30-minute foot bath plus shoulder massage plus a drink. It's not just a foot bath — you also get a shoulder massage, which made it a great little rest stop in the middle of the trip.

### Choosing an aroma: peppermint, lavender or rosemary

Before starting the foot bath, you also get to pick an aroma oil. It was my first time so I wasn't sure what to choose, but the staff kindly explained each one and I picked one pretty quickly haha.

- Peppermint: reduces leg swelling
- Lavender: calms body and mind, eases insomnia
- Rosemary: relieves stress

Since I'd been walking a lot and my legs were pretty tired, I went with peppermint.

The staff walked us through how to use everything step by step, kindly and confidently, so even as first-timers it wasn't hard at all.

### You set the foot bath temperature yourself

You can also adjust the foot bath's temperature to whatever you like. Soaking my feet in warm water and just sitting still, I could feel the ache from all that walking gradually loosen up. More than anything, just sitting quietly resting made my whole body feel more and more relaxed.

## How good is the shoulder massager?

What I liked even more than expected was the shoulder massager. Draped over the shoulders, it presses down on your neck and shoulders quite satisfyingly, and it felt like it released all the fatigue built up from traveling.

Both the foot bath machine and the shoulder massager were so much better than I expected that I almost wanted to buy them both.

Being able to drink something while soaking your feet made it feel like a more proper rest than just sitting in a regular café. Wandering around Jeonju Hanok Village always ends up taking longer than you think — between Gyeonggijeon and the hanok alleys, at some point your legs start hurting and you get hot and need a break. Being able to get a foot bath and massage together like this made for a solid mid-trip rest stop.

Since it's not just about drinking a beverage but also getting a foot bath and shoulder massage, it felt like a great place to rest for a bit while traveling in Jeonju. There's also a restroom inside the store, so it was easy to use comfortably during the visit.

I stopped in on a whim because my legs hurt and I was hot from wandering around Jeonju Hanok Village, but I ended up resting so comfortably that it's actually a memorable spot. Soaking my feet in warm water and getting a shoulder massage while sitting still made my body feel so much more comfortable, and I even got the energy to keep exploring the hanok village afterward.

If you're looking for somewhere to rest after a lot of walking in Jeonju Hanok Village, this offers a different kind of break from just grabbing a coffee at a café. If your legs are aching after touring Gyeonggijeon and the hanok village like we did, it's worth stopping by once for a foot bath.
