## Where is Jeongseong Katsu, Cheomdan Branch, and is there parking?

Jeongseong Katsu, Cheomdan Branch is a Japanese-style tonkatsu restaurant on Cheomdanjungang-ro 152beon-gil in Ssangam-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, located on the 1st floor of CMC Tower. There's free parking available at the CMC Tower lot.

When you're trying to decide on lunch or dinner in Cheomdan, tonkatsu is always a solid choice — filling but still clean and light. This time, while looking for a good tonkatsu restaurant in Cheomdan, Gwangju, I tried the Triple Mixed Katsu at Jeongseong Katsu, Cheomdan Branch.

They're open daily 10:00-21:00, with a break time from 15:00-16:00 and last order at 20:00. Worth keeping in mind before you visit.

A parking lot in Cheomdan is rare enough as it is, but this one's even spacious haha.

## What the dining room is like at 11am, with delivery orders nonstop

Jeongseong Katsu is on the 1st floor of the building. The interior was very clean with a wood-tone finish, and since I had somewhere to be, I went in for an early meal at 11am — they were already busy prepping for the lunch rush.

Sure enough, while I was eating, both dine-in customers and delivery riders kept streaming in nonstop haha. Seems like this place is also known as a delivery favorite in Cheomdan!

I usually love thick, Japanese-style tonkatsu, so I was excited going in. Rather than sticking to just one type of katsu, I wanted to try a bit of everything, so I went with the Triple Mixed Katsu.

Jeongseong Katsu, Cheomdan Branch was a great spot when you want proper Japanese-style katsu in Cheomdan. The atmosphere was easygoing enough for solo dining too, so it'd suit anyone looking for a good solo-dining restaurant in Cheomdan.

There's a receipt event running right now too, so don't miss that!

## What comes with the Triple Mixed Katsu at 14,900 won?

This is what I ordered — the Triple Mixed Katsu (₩14,900). It comes with cheese katsu, tenderloin katsu, and pork loin katsu.

Instead of getting just one kind, you get to enjoy several types of katsu on one plate, so it really lives up to its name — a fun way to pick and choose. If you're a first-timer unsure which katsu to order, a mixed platter like the Triple Mixed Katsu seems like a solid choice.

![Full set with rice, soup, curry, salad, and kimchi](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeongseong-katsu-cheomdan-triple-katsu-solo/jeongseong-katsu-cheomdan-triple-katsu-solo-10-8g0v6-900.webp)

### A full tray that includes curry as standard

Beyond the katsu itself, the full set was really good too — rice, soup, curry, salad, kimchi, sauce, and wasabi. Curry is usually an extra add-on at most places, but at Jeongseong Katsu, Cheomdan Branch it's already part of the standard set.

## Cheese katsu: cheese too stretchy to hold with chopsticks

First up was the cheese katsu, and it was so packed with cheese that it was hard to even grab with chopsticks. As a cheese lover, it passed the visual test with flying colors!

The look of the cheese katsu at Jeongseong Katsu, Cheomdan Branch.

Thick tonkatsu can easily end up dry inside if it's fried wrong, but the katsu here struck a great balance between a crispy exterior and a moist interior.

A cross-section of the cheese katsu. Frying quality is really the most important thing with tonkatsu! The outside was crispy without the batter being too thick. The meat was also thick, so it had a satisfying chew.

If it starts to feel a bit rich, try adding some wasabi on top — it cuts right through the richness and cleans up your palate.

## Tenderloin katsu: juicy and tender, eaten with wasabi

The tenderloin katsu at Jeongseong Katsu has soft tenderloin with a bit of fat mixed in.

Adding wasabi to the tenderloin katsu makes it seriously delicious!!

Do I even need to say anything about the tonkatsu sauce haha. Switching between different flavors with the sauce kept things interesting and I really enjoyed the whole plate haha!

## Pork loin katsu: expected to be dry, but it wasn't

This is the pork loin katsu. After the tenderloin katsu, doesn't the loin katsu look a little dry? I thought so too, ugh.

![The pork loin katsu at Jeongseong Katsu, Cheomdan Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeongseong-katsu-cheomdan-triple-katsu-solo/jeongseong-katsu-cheomdan-triple-katsu-solo-16-1j7m2-900.webp)

I was wrong, my apologies. Doesn't it look moist even in the photo? I think this is the first time I've had loin katsu that wasn't dry like this.

> Put a piece of katsu on your rice and it's basically heaven.

The tonkatsu sauce went better with the loin katsu than wasabi did haha. Alternating between the different types of katsu and pairing them with sauce, I never got tired of it until the whole plate was gone. Eaten with rice, it made for a filling meal, and the whole spread was clean and well put together — an easy pick for lunch or dinner.

### Pairing the standard curry with well-aged kimchi

I also tried the rice that came with it in the curry. The curry was genuinely delicious Japanese-style curry haha! Even the kimchi was well-aged and so tasty that pairing them together was absolutely the best.

## Is Jeongseong Katsu comfortable for eating alone?

Jeongseong Katsu, Cheomdan Branch had an easygoing atmosphere even for solo diners, making it a good fit as a solo-dining spot in Cheomdan. These days, plenty of people eat alone. When I eat by myself, I tend to prefer places where I can eat comfortably while still getting a proper meal, rather than something overly elaborate.

Tonkatsu itself is an easy dish to order solo, and pairing katsu with rice makes for a filling meal, so it seems like a good option for a working lunch or a solo dinner.

Jeongseong Katsu, Cheomdan Branch was a Japanese-style tonkatsu restaurant in Cheomdan that anyone who loves Japanese-style katsu would really enjoy. What I liked most about the Triple Mixed Katsu in particular was being able to try several types of katsu at once instead of just one. It's a great choice when you're not sure what to order, and there's fun in comparing the different katsu as you eat.

On a day when I want a filling meal in Cheomdan and I'm craving crispy Japanese-style tonkatsu, this is a place I'd want to come back to and try the other katsu options one by one.
