## In short

Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch is a street-food stall for octopus and chicken skewers on Eunhaeng-ro in Wansan-gu, Jeonju. A family stopped in around 4pm after Jeonju Zoo and ordered a katsuo octopus skewer (mild) for 5,000 won, a teriyaki chicken skewer (spicy) for 5,000 won, a cheese chicken skewer (mild) for 6,000 won and a slushy for 3,000 won, and the child happily finished the cheese chicken skewer, the first one they had ever tried. With tables beside the shop, Munkkocchi is an easy spot to eat right away with a self-serve slushy on a hot day.

## Why Munkkocchi was our first snack stop in Jeonju Hanok Village

Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch is an octopus and chicken skewer shop at 35 Eunhaeng-ro in Wansan-gu, Jeonju. It was my family's first trip to Jeonju together, but I remembered how delicious the octopus skewers were from a previous Jeonju trip, so we went straight for the octopus skewers first!!

We'd already been to Jeonju Zoo and my feet were starting to ache, but the Hanok Village streets had so much to see and eat that it was still great! The village was bigger than I expected, so I'd recommend renting an electric cart to get around!! We bought the Jeonbuk Tour Pass and went around doing experiences and eating, and my feet felt like they were going to burst...!!!! But I still recommend the Jeonbuk Tour Pass!! I'll post about that another time~~~

## Munkkocchi hours and parking on Eunhaeng-ro

- Location: 35 Eunhaeng-ro, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, Jeonbuk
- Hours: 11:30–20:30
- Last order: 20:00
- Parking: None, of course~~

We parked our car at our accommodation and took a taxi here! But this turned out to be a different street from the food street I'd visited before!

Even around 4pm there were quite a lot of people eating already! Still popular, as expected~~~

## What we ordered at Munkkocchi and what it cost

Besides octopus skewers, they also sell chicken skewers! And even slushies and slushy beer...!! I wanted to try the slushy beer too but my husband talked me out of it! It was so hot I was sweating buckets.... Was Jeonju just especially hot that day, or was it that Cheongju hasn't been this hot lately?

Here's what we ordered!!

- Katsuo mun-kkochi (mild octopus skewer) - ₩5,000
- Teriyaki chicken skewer (spicy) - ₩5,000
- Cheese chicken skewer (mild) - ₩6,000
- Slushy - ₩3,000

I saw on Naver that they have combo sets like this too. It would be great if the octopus or chicken skewers had a combo set option too!

I charged straight for the octopus skewers and completely missed that they had mungangjeong (fried octopus) too haha. Next time I'll have to try the mungangjeong!! Doesn't it look amazing just from the visual??

## How does the self-serve slushy work?

The slushy at Munkkocchi Mungangjeong is 3,000 won, and once you pay, you pour it into a cup yourself — a nice system! The flavors are mango, green apple, and strawberry. My husband thoughtfully filled the cup with a bit of everything!! Good good!! haha

Didn't he do a great job?? Filled it up just right, looking so appetizing!! Perfect for this hot day, right??

## Are there seats to sit and eat at Munkkocchi?

It was so great that Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch has tables on the side where you can sit and eat!! A lot of places in the Hanok Village don't have chairs or tables, but this place happened to have a spot free so we sat right down and ate~~

The visuals are amazing!!!! Looks so good~~~ The cheese one took a little longer, but they all look delicious, don't they??

### Cheese chicken skewer (6,000 won), our child's pick

Can you see all that cheese?? This is the cheese chicken skewer our kid picked. I tried tempting them with the octopus but I guess that's still unfamiliar to them~~ It seemed like their first time trying chicken skewer too, but they said it was better than expected and ate it right up!! I think it's because the cheese isn't frozen — it's natural cheese with over 99% mozzarella content — which made it taste so nutty and delicious! Next time I definitely have to get cheese on top too!!!

![Octopus skewer topped with katsuo-bushi](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonju-hanok-village-skewer-self-slushie/jeonju-hanok-village-skewer-self-slushie-15-13qec-900.webp)

### Katsuo octopus skewer, mild (5,000 won)

In the middle is the katsuo-bushi octopus skewer I picked. The octopus wasn't chewy at all and the sweet-savory teriyaki sauce made it even better! I ate it fondly while remembering old memories~~ When I posted about eating it, I even got a message from a friend I'd gone with before. She said it brought back memories for her too haha

![Spicy teriyaki chicken skewer](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonju-hanok-village-skewer-self-slushie/jeonju-hanok-village-skewer-self-slushie-16-18vmw-900.webp)

### Teriyaki chicken skewer, spicy (5,000 won)

Last was the spicy chicken skewer, and as usual my husband said it wasn't spicy at all, but for someone who can't handle spice, it was spicy! I think having cheese on top makes it even better! Next time I'll have to try the octopus skewer with cheese too!

## Are Munkkocchi prices reasonable for Jeonju Hanok Village street food?

There's so much street food and snacks sold around here, and a lot of the pricier stuff is over 10,000 won, so Munkkocchi Mungangjeong being in the 5,000–6,000 won range feels like good value! It's an easy way to fill up, and since they have octopus and fried octopus in addition to chicken, it's perfect as a beer snack too — great to get takeout and eat back at your accommodation.
