## In short

Haemullae is a stone-plate seafood and pork bone jjim (dolpan haemul-ppyeo-jjim) restaurant in Myeongji International City, Gangseo, Busan. The 2-person stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim costs 46,000 won and was ordered at the medium-spicy level, arriving with abalone, squid, shrimp, pork neck bones and fried squid, then finished with cheese fried rice. The green bangah (Korean perilla) chimichurri sauce was the most memorable part at Haemullae, and the medium-spicy level came out milder than Shin Ramyun.

Hi everyone haha! I was looking for a place in Myeongji where I could eat seafood and meat together, and ended up at Haemullae, a stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim specialist. The menu has abalone, squid and shrimp alongside pork neck bones and fried squid, so the combination looked unique and hearty!

We ordered the 2-person stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim and later added fried rice and cheese ☺️. What really stood out was the green perilla (bangah) chimichurri-style sauce for dipping meat and seafood! As someone who loves perilla, it suited my taste perfectly, and it's become a memorable spot for seafood jjim in Myeongji haha.

## What kind of place is Haemullae? A stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim specialist in Myeongji

Haemullae is a stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim restaurant located in Myeongji International City. The big orange sign makes it easy to spot once you're nearby!

Inside, there were several bright wooden tables.

Every table was set up so you could comfortably enjoy the stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim, and the overall vibe was clean and tidy! There were also tables of what looked like work dinner groups.

Since the dish comes with sauce that can splash onto your clothes, they thoughtfully had disposable aprons ready on the side 👍

Utensils and tissues were kept inside the table drawer, so it was easy to grab them right away while eating.

## Haemullae's table setting and the inari sushi starter

![Haemullae's basic table setting with side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-09-1w5wm-900.webp)

Haemullae's basic table setup was quite substantial too. It seems like a good spot for group dinners as well.

In particular, the inari sushi (fried tofu rice) before the meal really got my appetite going haha.

## Haemullae's menu and the price of the 2-person stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim

Check out Haemullae's menu 🤍

Haemullae's signature dish is the seafood jjim with pork neck bones, fried squid, abalone, shrimp and squid.

![Introduction of the signature dish with neck bones and fried squid](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-13-jgfm5-900.webp)

We ordered the stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim 2-person set for ₩46,000, along with fried rice and an added cheese topping.

The stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim comes with abalone, squid, shrimp, pork neck bones and fried squid together. You can choose the spice level between mild, medium-spicy, and spicy — we went with the medium level, medium-spicy.

![A stone plate full of the 2-person seafood pork bone jjim](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-14-tppqx-900.webp)

The dish arrived filling the entire stone plate — seafood, pork neck bones, and fried squid piled generously over red sauce. With abalone in there too, it was fun alternating between seafood and meat bites haha.

The sauce kept simmering on the hot stone plate, so we could eat it warm until the very end. The squid pieces were also large, so we cut them into more manageable sizes.

## How hot is the medium-spicy level? Milder than Shin Ramyun

![The medium-spicy seasoning of the seafood pork bone jjim](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-15-6ub5a-900.webp)

The medium-spicy level we chose at Haemullae built up a slight kick the more we ate. By my standard, it was milder than Shin Ramyun and not too intense, which made it easy to enjoy. If you can't handle spice well, go with mild; if you like a moderate kick, medium-spicy should work well.

## Pork neck bones and seafood on one stone plate

![Sauce-soaked squid and pork neck bones](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-16-1i69z-900.webp)

![Abalone and shrimp in the seafood pork bone jjim](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-17-1969n-900.webp)

![Bean sprouts served alongside the seafood pork bone jjim](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-18-1wohe-900.webp)

The spicy sauce had soaked well into the squid too, and switching between pork neck bones and seafood made the single dish feel varied. With abalone in there as well, it was a really substantial combination ☺️

There was also plenty of bean sprouts mixed into the sauce, which paired nicely with both the meat and seafood.

## The best way to eat it, and the wasabi soy sauce

![Haemullae's guide on how to enjoy the dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-19-1jugr-800.webp)

There was even a friendly guide on how to enjoy the dish. The sauces in particular were a real highlight. Perilla chimichurri-style sauce 👍 special wasabi soy sauce 👍

![The special wasabi soy sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-20-1vovs-900.webp)

The wasabi soy sauce was sweet and tangy, and paired well with both the seafood and meat.

## The bangah (Korean perilla) chimichurri sauce that won me over

![The green perilla chimichurri-style sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-21-7m4qz-900.webp)

What stood out most at Haemullae was the green perilla (bangah) chimichurri-style sauce. It's not something you'd normally find with seafood jjim, so I was curious how it would taste, and it had that distinctive fragrant perilla flavor.

As a perilla lover, I put the sauce over the meat and found it paired really well with the spicy seasoning too haha.

![Perilla chimichurri-style sauce spooned over meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-22-mwufw-900.webp)

With that fragrant perilla flavor added, the same seafood bone jjim felt a bit different and more interesting to enjoy, and I ended up spooning it over both meat and seafood in turns. If you love perilla, definitely try this sauce!

## Finishing with kimchi fried rice and melted cheese

Fried rice ASMR for the eyes...✨️ After finishing the stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim, we added fried rice and cheese. They stir-fry kimchi into the leftover sauce, and adding cheese on top made it even more savory and delicious...

![Fried rice being made with kimchi in the leftover sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-23-1wt0p-900.webp)

![The finished cheese kimchi fried rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce/myeongji-seafood-stew-chimichurri-sauce-24-1021h-900.webp)

The spicy seafood bone jjim sauce, the umami of the kimchi, and the softly melted cheese all came together so well that my spoon kept going back for more until the very end haha.

The fried rice would be delicious on its own, but if you like cheese, I'd definitely recommend adding it 🥹

## Final verdict on Haemullae, a seafood jjim restaurant in Myeongji

What I loved most about Haemullae's stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim was being able to enjoy seafood and pork neck bones together on one plate!

- ✔ A combination featuring abalone, squid and shrimp along with pork neck bones
- ✔ Choice of mild, medium-spicy, or spicy heat levels
- ✔ The medium-spicy level was, by my standard, milder than Shin Ramyun
- ✔ A perilla chimichurri-style sauce that worked well with both meat and seafood
- ✔ Adding cheese to the kimchi fried rice makes for an even more savory finish

As someone who loves perilla, the perilla chimichurri-style sauce was really unique and delicious! It felt totally different from a seafood-only jjim, so I'd recommend Haemullae's stone-plate seafood pork bone jjim to anyone in Myeongji looking for a different kind of seafood jjim, or wanting to enjoy seafood and meat together haha. If you're looking for a seafood jjim spot in Myeongji, I recommend Haemullae 🤎
