## In short

Kkweda Pangyo Avenue France Branch is a borderless-cuisine restaurant at Avenue France in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, that rebuilds its tasting course every season around seasonal ingredients. On a weekend visit the writer ordered the two-person course (₩75,000 per person) with Kkweda kombucha and ate eight summer dishes, from watermelon gazpacho to yogurt sherbet, and confirmed the ₩40,000 per-person Naver reservation deposit plus 3 hours of free parking in the Avenue France lot. For an anniversary date course in Pangyo, Kkweda packs a lot into the price.

## Eating the summer course at Kkweda, a borderless-cuisine restaurant in Pangyo

Last weekend I went to Kkweda, a well-known restaurant in Pangyo. Kkweda is an unaffiliated-cuisine dining restaurant that presents a new concept course every season using seasonal ingredients, and true to its already strong word-of-mouth reputation, it delivered. Despite being omakase-style course dining, the reasonable pricing and clean composition really stood out, so I wanted to write up a vivid review of my visit.

## How to book Kkweda and where to park at Avenue France

![Kkweda's Naver Reservation screen showing deposit information](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-02-11yja-900.webp)

First, reservations can be made through Naver Reservation or Catch Table. I used Naver Reservation, selected the type according to party size, and paid a ₩40,000 deposit per person.

[Cancellation and refund policy]

- Up to 4 days before: free cancellation
- 3 days before: 25% fee
- 2 days before: 50% fee
- 1 day before through the day of: 100% fee (no refund)

The penalty grows the closer you get to the visit date, so I'd recommend double-checking your schedule before booking.

For parking, you can get up to 3 hours free at the Pangyo Avenue France parking lot. Note that weekend lunchtime tends to be busy, so there may be a wait for parking or a table — I'd suggest arriving a bit earlier than your reservation time.

## Where Kkweda is in Avenue France and what the dining room feels like

![Kkweda's gray-toned exterior on the ground floor streetside of Pangyo Avenue France](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-03-1wv4y-900.webp)

The restaurant sits on the ground floor streetside of Pangyo Avenue France. If you're having trouble finding it, just walk left from the Olive Young at the center of Avenue France — the elegant gray-toned exterior makes it easy to spot at a glance.

Stepping inside, the clean interior caught my eye first; there are private rooms and group tables set up in the back and to the right.

Near the kitchen there's counter (dachi) seating, and the overall vibe is calm and tidy, with an open-kitchen layout that let me watch the cooking process directly — reassuring from a hygiene standpoint too.

## What's in Kkweda's summer course and what it costs

Kkweda's menu changes seasonally, and through September 30 it's running the 'Kkweda Summer Course.' The summer course goes: watermelon gazpacho → grilled vegetable salad → sweet corn custard → charcoal-grilled Iberico pork → sea bass karaage → eel donburi → neungi mushroom duck soup → yogurt sherbet. There are also optional add-on sides: hanwoo (Korean beef) uni maki (₩10,000) and a 1++ hanwoo cheeseburger (₩15,000), worth keeping in mind.

Worth noting: for dinner visits, ordering an alcoholic drink is required. For those who don't drink, kombucha and mojito are prepared as non-alcoholic options, and beyond that there's a wide lineup of beer, highballs, sake, and traditional Korean liquors to choose from as you like.

What I ordered

- Kkweda 2-person course - ₩75,000 * 2
- Kkweda kombucha - ₩11,000 * 2

## Kkweda's eight summer dishes, from watermelon gazpacho to yogurt sherbet

![A glass of yuzu-based Kkweda kombucha](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-10-1vsj9-900.webp)

The drink was brought out before the first course arrived — the Kkweda kombucha I ordered had a refreshing yuzu base that paired cleanly with every dish that followed.

![The course's first dish, watermelon gazpacho](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-11-1ebny-900.webp)

The very first dish was watermelon gazpacho. A cold soup based on sweet, cool watermelon and melon, mixed with chewy squid and tangy wood sorrel, spread refreshingly through the mouth — the fruit's sweetness, the squid's texture, and the sorrel's zing whetted the appetite, making it a truly perfect start to the summer course.

![Close-up of watermelon gazpacho topped with squid and wood sorrel](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-12-13j0x-900.webp)

![Grilled vegetable salad topped with prosciutto and nuts](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-13-1xdww-900.webp)

Second came the grilled vegetable salad. Along with warmly grilled vegetables, it was packed with various nuts and prosciutto — the nutty texture and salty prosciutto blended beautifully with the vegetables' subtle sweetness. The flavor filling the mouth made it enjoyable without ever feeling heavy.

![Sweet corn custard topped with sous-vide bay scallop](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-14-18w0b-900.webp)

The third dish was the sweet corn custard, memorable for its sweetness. Sous-vide bay scallop and shallot are placed atop the soft, sweet corn custard. Because the scallop was sous-vide, it wasn't tough at all — it practically melted — and the shallot's umami harmonized well with the corn's gentle sweetness, so I finished it in no time.

![Charcoal cooking being done in the open kitchen](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-15-dged6-900.webp)

### Why charcoal grilling at Kkweda leaves no smell on your clothes

Once the appetizers wrapped up, the main courses began in earnest, and I caught a glimpse of a staff member cooking directly over charcoal. Charcoal cooking usually fills a space with smoke and smell, but thanks to this place's excellent ventilation and shielding structure, there was no charcoal smell at all — a genuinely comfortable dining experience.

![Charcoal-grilled Iberico pork served with chimichurri sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-16-me0h2-900.webp)

### Charcoal-grilled Iberico pork and sea bass karaage at Kkweda

Next came the main dish, charcoal-grilled Iberico pork. It arrived with chimichurri sauce and cheesy potatoes, and the charcoal aroma was fragrant from the moment it was served.

![Plate of charcoal-grilled Iberico pork with cheesy potatoes](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-17-swuam-900.webp)

![Cross-section of charcoal-grilled Iberico pork showing its juices](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-18-1rib4-900.webp)

The meat was so juicy it needed no explanation — perfect. The potatoes that came with it also had a freshness to them, and the cheese's saltiness blended softly, pairing wonderfully with the meat.

![Sea bass karaage served with yuzu ponzu sauce and grated radish](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-19-cg09n-900.webp)

![Close-up of crispy fried sea bass karaage](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-20-gnlpc-900.webp)

Next up, the sea bass karaage came with yuzu ponzu sauce and grated radish. There was no fishy taste at all — crispy outside, moist inside, fried very cleanly. The yuzu ponzu sauce in particular was tangy yet sweet, cutting through what could otherwise be a heavy fried dish and pairing perfectly with the sea bass.

![Eel donburi topped with charcoal-grilled eel](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-21-15k3o-900.webp)

### Eel donburi, neungi mushroom duck soup and yogurt sherbet to finish

Toward the end of the meal came the eel donburi (rice bowl) — the eel was grilled over charcoal, and the deep smoky aroma filled my mouth from the first bite. The outside was golden and the flesh inside soft and fluffy, coated in a sweet-salty tare sauce that was pure bliss over rice.

![Neungi mushroom duck soup with sous-vide duck](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-23-1pavh-900.webp)

![Noodles served alongside the neungi mushroom duck soup broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course/pangyo-avenue-france-kueda-summer-course-24-1wfyu-900.webp)

The neungi mushroom duck soup showed the height of tenderness and depth of flavor — the duck was cooked sous-vide, soft enough to chew without teeth, and the long, richly simmered broth carried the deep, subtle aroma of neungi mushroom, drawing an involuntary sigh of satisfaction with the first spoonful. The noodles were also excellent, and eating them with the broth left a warm, satisfying feeling inside.

Closing out the meal was dessert: yogurt sherbet. The refreshing, cool yogurt sherbet came with sweet berry jam and crunchy cookie crumbs, adding tanginess, sweetness, and crunch all at once — a clean and perfect finish to the course. From start to finish, thanks to the careful cooking and attentive service, it was a truly satisfying meal. If you're in Pangyo looking for a place with great atmosphere or a special-occasion date course, I highly recommend Kkweda for its refined course dining.
