After a movie, a table for two booked at 8pm took the counter seats and ordered the basic course for two at 45,000 won per person, a 21,000-won chuck flap steak upgrade, two bisque pastas and a green grape ade, with the open kitchen putting every step of the cooking in view. Hado is a course restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro near Haenggung-dong in Suwon, serving two menus: a basic course and a summer course. I was near Haenggung-dong to catch a movie and wanted a nice dinner afterward, so I ended up at Hado! They have a summer course and a basic course. Let's get straight to the review~!!!! ## Where do you park near Hado? There's a public parking lot, Gyodong Public Parking Lot, right next door. It's cheap and the spaces are a bit tight, but it's decent for parking. Since it's literally the next building over, I'd recommend parking there. Regular cars get 1 hour free, EVs get 2 hours free. There's a Coupang building right behind Hado, which feels a bit out of place haha. At Hado they tell you to sit wherever you like, so we took the counter seats~ There are also tables, so just sit where you want. At the tables you can even listen to music — bring your own earphones or rent some, and bring your own CD or rent one. Apparently you pick a CD here and play it at your seat. The shop has coat hangers and blankets ready, so we could eat comfortably. It's a completely open kitchen, so you can see the cooking happening in full haha. Even the cutlery was arranged with pretty pins, which I thought showed great taste. ## Starters: pea tart and sweet shrimp apple tart We'd booked for 8pm, and the course started 10 minutes later. Pea tart and sweet apple tart. They looked so cute! It looks like a small portion but it wasn't that small — good portion size. The pasta was cooked to a nice al dente, and the shrimp were large but grilled well. You could really taste the shrimp and shellfish flavor in the pasta. The shrimp roe was large too, easy to eat. The table next to us ordered vongole, and its look was insane. We regretted not ordering one vongole ourselves haha. If you order here, I'd recommend getting two different dishes and sharing. The look of it was so good. It didn't even resemble a chicken breast cut. They said it was topped with quinoa. They explained it was sous vide cooked to keep it tender, paired with carrot purée for even more softness. When cutting, instead of sawing back and forth, you should press straight down — it cuts much more cleanly that way, so give that a try. The quinoa crust gave it a crispy exterior, which made the texture fun too. The combination of caramel sauce and coffee cookie was delicious.
