## In short

Yakiniku Doryong is a Korean beef omakase restaurant in Doryong-dong, Yuseong, Daejeon, where the staff grill every piece for you from start to finish. The 2-person Korean beef set (340g) costs 80,000 won, premium beef tongue (100g) is 30,000 won, and uraramen (beef broth ramen) is 7,000 won, paired here with non-alcoholic beer and a plum highball because of the drive home. Yakiniku Doryong has just one 12-seat bar counter and was full even at 8pm on a Thursday, so a reservation is essential.

Yakiniku Doryong, a Korean beef spot in Daejeon. I visited as part of a sponsored campaign but liked it so much I ordered extra. The meat quality was a total thumbs up. Daejeon Korean beef omakase, Yakiniku Doryong.

Beef really needs a pro griller's touch, you know? This is a Daejeon yakiniku place where they grill everything from start to finish, so all you have to do is sit back and eat.

## Where is Yakiniku Doryong, and what about parking and hours?

Yakiniku Doryong is located in the House Dear Ban commercial building in Doryong-dong, near the Lotte City Hotel Daejeon and Shinsegae Daejeon. Sungsimdang DCC is nearby too, so I bought bread first and then came for dinner haha.

## What we ordered at Yakiniku Doryong: the 2-person beef set, beef tongue and uraramen

They have everything from solo sets to 3-person sets, great for a lone drink too. I wanted to try a variety of cuts, so I went with a set.

- 2-Person Korean Beef Set (340g) ₩80,000 – assorted Korean beef (tenderloin, striploin, flap meat, brisket)
- Beef Tongue (100g) ₩30,000
- Uraramen ₩7,000

## A 12-seat counter that was full at 8pm on a Thursday

I booked through Naver ahead of time and everything was already set up when I arrived. Inside, the restaurant has an L-shaped bar counter, seating up to 12 people.

The space is small and this popular Daejeon beef restaurant fills up fast, so I'd recommend reserving ahead. I visited at 8pm on a Thursday and it was completely full.

Basil cabbage / seasoned vegetable salad / yuzu radish pickles / aged kimchi. The side dish lineup wasn't the usual — it felt thoughtfully put together. Went perfectly with the beef.

## Tenderloin, striploin, flap meat, brisket: the order the staff grill in

The meat looked trustworthy right away. There was even an aging fridge inside the restaurant. They grill in order of fat content: tenderloin, striploin, flap meat, brisket.

![Assorted Korean beef with tenderloin, striploin, flap meat, and brisket](https://img.superchart.com/images/daejeon-yuseong-yakiniku-doryong-beef-tongue/daejeon-yuseong-yakiniku-doryong-beef-tongue-08-19lnk-900.webp)

The first bite of tenderloin gave me a dopamine rush. The grain was so tender it just melted.

Dip in salt, yum. Top with wasabi, yum yum.

So juicy. Even with the same cut, they grilled each piece slightly differently, which made tasting them fun. The tenderloin and striploin made the biggest impact.

Look at that shine. Can you tell how juicy it is?

The flap meat was so nutty~~

For the last piece, brisket, they said it's tasty with sauce too, so I drizzled on some tare sauce and kept grilling.

## Non-alcoholic beer and a plum highball when you're driving

By the time I got to the flap meat, my mouth felt greasy and I wanted something refreshing. Since I'd driven there, I ordered a non-alcoholic beer (₩4,000) and the recommended plum highball (₩6,000).

![A glass each of non-alcoholic beer and plum highball](https://img.superchart.com/images/daejeon-yuseong-yakiniku-doryong-beef-tongue/daejeon-yuseong-yakiniku-doryong-beef-tongue-17-1dxp7-900.webp)

They said the non-alcoholic plum highball uses Tsuruume plum syrup. If Korean-style plum syrup is sweet, this one is more crisp and clean.

Yakiniku Doryong offers free corkage for 1 bottle, and the drink menu had a wide range of options that pair well with beef — sake, Japanese shochu, wine, and more.

## Premium beef tongue (100g, 30,000 won): how it tasted

I'd had beef tongue once before at another yakiniku place, and it honestly felt like chewing on some random cow's tongue... ha. But something told me Yakiniku Doryong would be different. Time for beef tongue round two.

They explained, at just the right level for me, that this was premium-grade beef tongue cut from the front and side, the tastiest part *•.¸♡♡¸.•* This place is a beef tongue destination... springy, chewy texture, so good. Having it grilled for me made it even better.

## Finishing with uraramen for 7,000 won

I'd read that the kimchi jjigae here was great, but I was already way too full for stew. So I ordered uraramen instead, just to wash things down (?).

![Uraramen prepared with a fire show](https://img.superchart.com/images/daejeon-yuseong-yakiniku-doryong-beef-tongue/daejeon-yuseong-yakiniku-doryong-beef-tongue-22-tb52e-900.webp)

Fire show time for the uraramen.

Ramen always tastes best when someone else makes it for you, right? Haha. It had beef in it and the broth was rich. Like an upgraded version of Samyang beef tallow ramen. A great way to finish the meal.

![Close-up of a piece of charcoal-grilled Korean beef](https://img.superchart.com/images/daejeon-yuseong-yakiniku-doryong-beef-tongue/daejeon-yuseong-yakiniku-doryong-beef-tongue-23-1hfz2-1200.webp)

Korean beef really does taste best grilled over charcoal. It was so good I'm still gushing about it. Quiet and cozy for conversation, so I'd recommend it for an anniversary date in Daejeon. It's been days since I went and I still think about Yakiniku Doryong, this Daejeon Korean beef restaurant — I'll definitely be back!!
