Mapo beef soup and raw beef platter: Usijang Hoegwan
Usijang Hoegwan is a restaurant about a three-minute walk from Exit 3 of Mapo Station in Seoul. I had clam beef gukbap (soup with rice) with yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) and yuk sashimi; the broth was clear and refreshing, and the raw beef was clean-tasting. Making wraps and yukhoe sushi with the side dishes was fun, and the owner’s friendly explanations stood out.
