A café tour with a friend after eating in Gangnam. We went to a tea place first and were pretty disappointed, haha, so we headed to Sinnonhyeon Station for coffee instead.

Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon Branch

Coming out of Exit 1 of Sinnonhyeon Station, Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon Branch is right there. The store was way bigger than I expected. It runs 24 hours — a regular café during the day and an unmanned café at night. There's also a printing machine, and quite a few customers were using it for that. Seems like a good spot for study groups too.

Summer's over now, but they sell bingsu (shaved ice dessert) too, and the drink lineup is really varied. They also sell sandwiches and salads, so it's a good spot for a light meal.

A big room that stays quiet: group room and window bar seats

On one side of the fairly large store there were a lot of people studying, and on this side people chatting. But everyone was talking so quietly that the whole place felt calm.

A space where you can print 24 hours and also grab a simple meal. It's nice that the space is divided into different zones. There's a big table for group gatherings inside a separate room, which seems good for studying too.

There's a bar table by the window, a comfortable spot for spending time alone. They play soft background music too, so it's a great café for conversation.

Five coffee beans plus sandwiches and salads on the menu

You can choose from a variety of coffee beans — mocha, Blue Mountain, Geisha, Dutch, and decaf too. Beyond coffee there's a wide range, with cream latte drinks as signature items, plus grain latte, milk tea, strawberry latte and more. Good that there are plenty of options for people who don't drink coffee.

We went after weekend lunch hours so the salads were all sold out, but there's a good choice of sauces and salads, plus lots of sandwich varieties.

There's detailed information about the flavor of each bean, so it's easy to pick.

Watermelon juice and bingsu are the answer for hot summer days, haha. The day we went was cloudy and not hot, so we didn't crave them, but the mango bingsu looked really delicious, haha.

Bakery counter: cookies, bagel chips and cakes

There are simple cookies and bagel chips too. I love bagel chips, and I only just noticed the 3-for-discount deal — wish I'd bought some, haha.

There are healthy sandwiches alongside sweet cakes and bagels. It's nice that there's a separate lighter version for sandwiches with less filling, versus the ones packed full. Plenty of baked goods that go well with coffee.

We'd already eaten so we thought about just having coffee, but decided to split one sandwich. It's almost dinner time anyway, haha. I chose the mocha, which was nutty and not bitter — I liked it. My friend had the Geisha, which had a slight acidity.

The coffee and sandwich arrived on an orange tray that looked really appetizing.

The pumpkin egg sandwich, with pumpkin mousse and egg inside, was really filling. It had tomato too, which gave it a refreshing taste — delicious.

The bread wasn't just plain sliced bread, which made it even tastier. A recommended bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station for a simple lunch.

On weekday afternoons there's probably high demand for salads — seems like a great spot for office workers to relax with coffee and salad during lunch.

Since it runs 24 hours, I'll remember this place for whenever I have nowhere to go late at night! It runs as an unmanned café at night, and I'm curious how much of the drink menu you can actually order then, haha.
