In short

Seongsan Bada Punggyeong Jeju Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch is a seafood restaurant near Seongsan Ilchulbong in Seogwipo, Jeju. I visited with my 13-month-old baby and ordered the ₩39,000 braised fish set for two; the tender fish, soft radish, baby chair, and baby tableware worked well for us.

On the second day of our Jeju trip, we ate at Seongsan Bada Punggyeong Jeju Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch (성산바다풍경 제주성산일출봉점) with our 13-month-old baby after visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong. Ordering the braised cutlassfish also included whole grilled cutlassfish, so my husband and I mainly ate the braise while our baby mostly ate the grilled fish.

The restaurant is on the first floor at 17 Ilchul-ro 288beon-gil, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju, South Korea. Seongsan Ilchulbong was directly visible from the location, and there was a dedicated parking lot. We could see Seongsan Ilchulbong and the sea while eating.

What was it like visiting with a baby?

The dining area was spacious and busy. I noticed many family groups in particular. We were asked to remove our shoes before entering, and were told that the men's restroom was up the stairs and the women's restroom was down the stairs.

There was a separate waiting area and baby chairs. Since we were with a baby, they also brought us baby tableware.

Looking around, it seemed that celebrities had visited the restaurant too. At the time of my visit, there was also a notice about an event that gave chocolate to people who took part in a review and survey.

Can you get extra miyeokguk and side dishes?

Miyeokguk (seaweed soup) was self-service, and we could have more without a limit. Even before the main meal, I found the miyeokguk tasty.

The basic side dishes were generally tasty too. One that reminded me of kelp stood out in particular, though I do not know exactly what ingredient it was.

How did the grilled cutlassfish and cutlassfish-mackerel braise taste?

The braise contained both cutlassfish and mackerel. The whole grilled cutlassfish served separately was meaty, and neither my husband nor I found it overly seasoned. Our baby ate the grilled fish well and had more than half a bowl of rice.

The braised cutlassfish felt generously portioned, and the flesh was tender.

The radish was thoroughly cooked too. We ate the fish flesh over rice at times, and at other times with the radish.

The braising sauce was savory and slightly spicy, so it was good mixed with rice. The mackerel was memorable as well as the cutlassfish. It had plenty of flesh and was very tender, which made it stand out in the braise.

How was the service during the meal?

The owner and staff were kind. I also saw the owner remove the flesh from a whole grilled cutlassfish for a foreign guest. I was satisfied with being able to eat both the braise and grilled fish, and it was a good meal to pair with an outing to Seongsan Ilchulbong.
