Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch (제주로운청해원) is a braised hairtail restaurant on Sinyang-ro in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju, close to Seongsan Ilchulbong, Seopjikoji and Aqua Planet. Two friends shared the ₩24,000-per-person A set: braised Jeju hairtail, a tilefish deep-fried whole, seafood stew in an earthenware pot, sticky pot rice and soy-marinated crab. Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon was a hearty, satisfying meal stop on a Seongsan itinerary.

Jeju chicken stew at 11 a.m. opening, potato sujebi: Deureomtong

Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang is a chicken restaurant in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City, about 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, where dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew) simmers on a big pot lid over a drum-barrel table. Two people arrived right at the 11 a.m. opening and had pot-lid dakdoritang for 2 with steamed egg and potato sujebi (hand-torn dough) toppings, unlimited ramyeon noodles for ordering before 2 p.m., 3 fish cake skewers for a receipt review and 3,000 won fried rice. Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang serves generous portions at low prices, a good pick for anyone near Jeju Airport who wants something other than black pork.

Ara-dong, Jeju Italian restaurant for seafood pomodoro: Cultured

Cultured is a government-designated Good Price Italian restaurant on Seungcheon-ro in Ara-dong, Jeju City. On a weekday lunch, the writer and her older sister ordered Cultured's ₩38,500 lunch set: a ricotta chicken salad, seafood pomodoro pasta, 2 drinks and a pizza upgraded to half-and-half for ₩2,000 extra. It was enough food for three, and the leftover pizza was packed to take home. Cultured is an Ara-dong spot where two people can have a generous lunch for around ₩40,000 in pricey Jeju.
