The writer went at around 2pm with both parents and shared sizzling stone-plate spicy dishes, kimchi pizza tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork topped with kimchi and cheese) and olive-oil-fried mandu (dumplings), all in generous 'small' portions, with daytime drinks alongside. With no break time and a long drinks list, Hwamok Restaurant Gaekjan suits both a long lunch and an evening of drinking.
