Yangju galbi restaurant, Friday night dinner for two: Manpo Garden
Manpo Garden is a butcher-style galbi restaurant in Go-eup-dong, Yangju, Gyeonggi, serving handmade marinated pork ribs grilled over charcoal. Arriving at 7pm on a Friday right after moving house, two people ordered 4 servings of handmade Korean pork galbi with chadol (beef brisket) doenjang stew and the free house-made Hamhung naengmyeon (cold noodles, bibim style), and the banchan even included yukhoe (beef tartare) and yukjeon (pan-fried beef). The marinade at Manpo Garden is not overly sweet, so 4 servings of galbi never felt heavy, and the meal ended with soft-serve on a puffed rice cracker.
